I received notice by mail in December that my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee had a recall (P36 sun visor wiring) and there was a risk of fire due to a wiring issue. I immediately took my car to dadeland Dodge Chrysler Jeep in miami, fl to get the recall fixed. My car was at the dealership for about 24 hours being repaired and the next day I was called to go pick it up because the recall had been done and the car was good as new. Fast forward to Tuesday, April 14th and I am driving and stopped at a red light. My car filled with smoke and I could not breathe in the car. I had no idea where the fire was coming from so I started opening all the windows and noticed there was a fire by the sun visor. All of the electrical functions on the center console and the steering wheel had disabled and I was unable to open the sunroof to let the smoke out. I had to pull over, turn off the car and truly feared for my life because the car had filled with smoke and the sun visor was completely burned. The fire could have burned me had I been on a highway and unable to stop. I think it's incredible that I did my part, took the car to get the recall fixed, and was returned a car that was clearly not fixed. This fire could have severely injured me and I no longer feel safe driving this car. This model car has had several recalls, including one involving the breaks, and to be honest, I just do not feel safe driving it after what happened to me. I simply want back what I paid for this manufacture defected vehicle.

Back in June 2012 I began experiencing problems with my vehicle. The vehicle was giving a hard start and stalling while driving. The vehicle has been back and forth to the dealership for these problems and as a result the hard start is the only thing that was fixed. In May 2013 the dealership installed a device called the starmobile to monitor the vehicle to see what causes the vehicle to shut down. Upon taking it off they told me the device did not read however, the problem seemed to be fixed. About 2 months later, it came right back to haunt me the vehicle began shutting down again. On the morning of 10/21/13, the vehicle shutdown and cause me to run in the bushes as a result. If this was to happen on the main road I would end up in someone's vehicle and would of had to pay for repairs for both my vehicle and the other person vehicle. Help help help that's all I am asking for.

I attempted to open the rear cargo door using automatic motorized opening system. The door began to open and then started to generate some loud, unusual sounds; as if the door was under some type of stress. Before I was able to move away from the door the entire rear window glass exploded outward toward me. The glass shot out about 6 feet from the vehicle. I received glass cuts on my face and arms although it could have been much worse. I had the car looked at by the dealer. They believe that some foreign object lodged under the roof top rear spoiler. The spoiler is attached to the window glass and moves back when the door opens. Since it was 9 degrees at the time of the incident, I believe that ice had formed under the spoiler. I believe that the design of the rear opening mechanism is flawed. The motor should have sensed that it was exerting an undo amount of force in order to open the dorr and should have automatically turned off or disabled itself, similar to how garage doors operate when there is a restriction sensed. Chrysler/Jeep was notified about the incident but refused to take any responsibility for the incident and the faulty design.
