The contact owned a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While driving at a low speed, the contact noticed smoke emitting from the headliner. The fire department extinguished the fire and filed a report. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the wiring harness in the sun visor caused the fire. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15V879000 (electrical system, interior lighting). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was destroyed. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Consumer writes in regards to a notice for a brake booster recall. The consumer has been waiting almost two months for the brake booster recall, to be rectified. The dealer informed him, the parts were not available. The consumer referenced recall numbers 14V154000 and 14V391000.
