Grand Cherokee Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 39,000 miles

Very dangerous problem -- car refuses to shift out of low when pulling away from a stop or near-stop. When pulling away from a stop light, drivers behind me are expecting me to accelerate pretty quickly...instead, I'm stuck creeping along in low gear -- until I manually shift into neutral then back to Drive. Also at times won't shift away from ECO mode into Overdrive and/or becomes sluggish when in ECO mode.

Grand Cherokee 4x4 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 29,000 miles

The transmission of our 2011 Grand Cherokee occasionally will not shift to the next higher gear when accelerating. It has stuck in both second and third. It requires shifting to neutral, then back to drive to normalize it.

All transmission software updates applicable to our car have been done at the dealer, but problem persists.
