Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7L Hemi

  • Automatic transmission
  • 84,000 miles

I guess it gave me an excuse to buy new rims for the Jeep but I really wasn't planning on it. I hated the way it looked with the clear coat/paint peeling by the center of the rim.

Grand Cherokee Laredo X 5.7L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 17,203 miles

Have standard Laredo X painted 18" rims on my Jeep, early on I notices that they were starting to pit around the wheel cap. This continued to get worse and worse; I took the Jeep into service and they replaced 2 of them. The other 2 were not affected yet. But now as of 2017 the ones they replaced have started to pit and the ones that were not replaced are terrible. the wheel caps have fallen off and will not stay on due to the amount of corrosion. Really frustrated to find out they will not replace them under my extended warranty. This is an obvious problem and I see lots of others with the same issue.

all 4 wheels are corroded

We purchased this 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee after having loved our previous 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. We love the vehicle except that all 4 wheels are corroded. I have told this to Troiano Jeep in Colchester, CT repeatedly, but they never documented it, so it apparently doesn't count for anything. I also complained to Capitol Jeep of Willimantic CT, (much better dealership). They sent a report to Jeep, but Jeep never responded. I finally took the time yesterday to call Jeep and after about one hour on the phone and multiple people, I was told it is not covered. Even with a $2,000 'warranty' we purchased for the vehicle. So, we paid $44,000 for this SUV, the wheels are badly corroded, and there is nothing they can do for us. I find it completely unacceptable. Wheels on vehicles should not corrode. We keep it meticulously clean, year round. It is in mint conditon - that is except for the rotting wheel rims.
