I was driving home from work and entering a highway merging into traffic at about 50mph, all was operating normally the Jeep was accelerating and I was turning the steering wheel to merge into the traffic. Suddenly without warning there was a noise from under the hood that can best be described as a "pop" which was followed by a burning smell and power loss. I managed to coast out of traffic and onto the shoulder of a 12 lane highway and called my roadside assistance who when they arrived immediately said it was the alternator without even lifting the hood. The incident occurred without warning on a major highway with busy traffic which could have easily resulted in an accident for myself and others. The Jeep was taken to the dealer who diagnosed an alternator diode failure, which also damaged the battery I had recently replaced. i authorized the repair which was accomplished without any issues, I have attached the paid invoice for this repair which totaled $874.06 +/-.

In the span of about 2 years, I have had the fuel pump TPIM safety recall performed about 3 times. I-€™ve had a new fuel pump, battery, new alternator, power board installed, all out of pocket and my 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi continues to randomly stall. The dealer always says there are no codes and basically cannot do anything for me at this point. Do I have to wait until I am in a serious accident before Chrysler does anything? Go on any jeep forum and I know I am not the only person experiencing this issue. This is a safety issue that needs to be corrected before someone is seriously injured or killed.

There is an open recall for the fuel pump relay on my Jeep Grand Cherokee, [XXX]. I've called every dealership within 50 miles of where I live and all of them tell me that Chrysler has only allowed them to order parts for 1 vehicle a week and they all over 100+ vehicles backlogged, meaning if circumstances don't change it will be 2 years plus before my vehicle is repaired. Now I'm going to have to pay for temporary repair out of pocket as my vehicle is already intermittently failing to start due to the relay failing. This is ridiculous and Jeep needs to get their act together before someone gets killed when this relay dies at the worst possible time.
