Grand Cherokee Limited 3.6L V6

One more flipping time!!! "Uconnect system update. Waiting for USB stick to begin update." 1st message.

2nd message "There was an error starting the head unit. If this problem persists through an ignition cycle contact dealer."

Wow!! That sounds familiar!

Once again, no back up camera, no GPS, no bluetooth, no heat/AC controls, no heated/ventilated seat controls, no 911 emergency call button, no phone, no music, and no uconnect controls (although I have paid for a year subscription). Took it to the dealer, they tell us they do not have strong enough wi-fi to update uconnect, and to take it to another Chrysler/Jeep dealer 45 minutes away!! I paid $45,000 for this crap!

I am over Jeep at this point. Never, ever, ever again would I buy a Jeep, any Jeep, any model. Such a waste of time, money, & patience.

Complete radio system out again!! Time #2! Replaced entire radio system ONE MORE TIME! The surround on the radio system ended up getting gouged by the dealership during the replacement process.

Significant time spent at dealership (almost an entire day), but the radio did get replaced a 2nd time. Let's see how this goes.

I'll say it again... I paid $45,000 for THIS?!

This is the 1st time it went out.

Grand Cherokee Overland

When I picked up my brand new Grand Cherokee in June 2013, the radio did not work. I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Overland edition. Sirius wouldn't play and phone couldn't connect. They had a recall on numerous Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge models. Radio has sporadicaly had issues ever since but they have covered under warranty-since they've never quite fixed the problem. This time however they want to charge me. I took my Grand Cherokee in to have an issue with the brakes fixed (they failed btw which was not fun) and several updates were done to various systems. The radio was working going in, but upon picking it up the system will freeze. I will suddenly not be able to change channels either by touch screen or steering controls. I can't change songs on my phone or move between phone and radio. When this happens phone won't connect and I can't adjust heating/cooling. Sometimes the radio simply won't load at all and it is silent. This means I have no Nav as well. Usually upon reboot it will work for a short time where the problems start again. I've had it back to the dealer that did the updates twice and they were finally able to reproduce it. I've found no rhyme to reason to when it stops working. They called Chrysler and they ok'd a radio replacement (again) but this time they want to charge me for it. Um if it worked going into the service and quit after your updates, why am I paying???!! And for a radio that I have had problems with from day one. I love everything about my Jeep-except for my radio. Jeep the radio you have just plain SUCKS. And now I have to pay to replace your errors? Unhappy customer!

Update from Sep 7, 2016: So after getting a case # from Chrysler customer care I am still unsatisfied. I am told by a rep they will call me by a certain date and then they don't. This is a common occurrence. I can't reach them to speak to them when I call. Sometimes the system simply hangs up when I enter the extension number I've been given, others I get to leave a voice mail but rarely receive a call back. At this point I will probably trade the Jeep in and start over hoping the next one doesn't have these problems. But darn it I want my $100 back and I'm not giving up on that. I refuse to be charged to fix something I didn't break. And the fact that Jeep won't even speak to me about that upsets me. The radio has been replaced but it still occasionally has issues. When playing music from my iphone the music will just stop. My phone believes it's playing but nothing from my Jeep. I was going to chalk it up to more communication issues between Apple and Mopar due to all of the ios updates, but then last night Sirius XM got stuck-twice! Frustrating

Grand Cherokee Limited V6

Jan 2016-The radio touch screen went crazy and showed all items scrambled on the screen. Took the car in and they replaced the entire radio with a new one. . It went crazy again June 2016 and started switching back and forth from AM to FM and the MP3 player would not connect. With the new one I had the first time, the heated steering wheel button is always highlighted RED so you don't know when it is on or off. The new one they just replaced week of 6/1/2015, same issues. Steering wheel heater button is still red and on. No way to tell if it is off or on.. The car must go back in again for this and other issues with A/C. Covered under warranty.

Grand Cherokee LTD 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission

Car went to dealer to have transmission problem looked at, said they had some recalls to perform anyway. Transmission problem not resolved, but recalls performed, one specifically to the audio system. On driving away from the dealer, DAB reception was missing on my regular radio station. I turned around & drove back, dealer not interested, just "DAB reception is never very good".

Anyone experienced this, can a recall be undone if I request so?

The radio goes in & out constantly & the Sirius radio icon vanishes completely on the touch screen, sometimes for a whole day. I spoke with Sirius XM technical support & they informed me it's not a signal issue but an equipment issue. I am scheduled for an appointment for another problem for wind noise inside the vechicle that sounds like blowing in a glass bottle except amplified so I will just add it to the repair list!

Grand Cherokee Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission

The reception of the unit is supposed to be HD which I thought would mean that my stations would come in clearer but that's not the case. I traveled to NC and with this vehicle, the stations begin to static and fade out much quicker than any of the older model vehicles that I have owned previously. Again, I am told that this is normal and nothing is wrong with the unit.

I can not tell you how many times I've been in this service department. about this radio going out and staying out for I don't know how long. I have been nice and pleasant to everyone at the dealership. but now this has been 4 months and Chrysler still doesn't have an update. I think they need to take this truck back and put it back through the assembly line. I really think that I have purchased a lemon.

Grand Cherokee Overland 5.7L

Within a week of bringing home the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee the following started happening and the dealership just says "we don't see it". 1) I've lost the radio presets 3 times. 2) The back up warning beeped in a parking lot but continued as I drove down the Hwy. I tried everyone but it never stopped until I had the car off for a while. 3) The radio will take a very long time to switch stations. 4) The dash will tell me the Radio is Off even though the radio is playing and I can adjust the volume, mute, unmute, and change stations. 5) The subwoofer will go nuts, it sounds like I'm in some car show subwoofer competition. It wouldn't stop until I turned off the car for a few minutes. 6) Many times I get no screen at all until I turn off the car for a few minutes. 7) My navigation will show I'm driving through a lake, field, or who knows, maybe ski diving.
