problem #3

Liberty 4WD 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 87,000 miles
Air conditioner would intermittently blow warm air. Brought it to the dealership, several times. Eventually it was found to be the bearing in the compressor. The bearing would heat up and bind, causing the clutch not to engage. Had to replace the whole compressor( $900). Air conditioner finally blows cold.

While leaving a parking lot, the electric cooling fan blades on my 2002 Jeep Liberty 4WD limited broke apart sending pieces through the shroud in several places. Just hours before, I was checking the engine for an intermittent noise. I would have been severely injured if the fan disintegrated while checking the out the noise! I have an appointment with the dealer for repairs. I have been told that the repair is not covered under warranty or recall action.
