Good afternoon, I received a rear structure reinforcement letter from Chrysler and the national traffic safety administration stating that certain 2002-2007 model year Jeep Liberty vehicles contain defect related to motor vehicle safety. Problem: The fuel tank on vehicle has a small chance of experiencing a fuel leak during certain types of rear end collisions. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in an underbody fire. What dealer will do: Chrysler intends to inspect your vehicle and install an oem trailer hitch where appropriate, free of charge (parts and labor) to better manage crash forces in low-speed impact I called the dealer and it turns out they do not have the parts to fix the problem, and Chrysler is responsible for sending them the parts. They said I would receive another letter once they had received the parts but I never received a letter/call back. I received the recall letter a few months ago and yet have not received a call and just about forgot about until my husband asked about it. I am almost 8 months pregnant and quite worried driving the car but I need it. I hope you can help me get this resolved as soon as possible because in 2 weeks I'm getting my future child's carseat installed and would like this other safety problem to be solved. Thank you in advance for your help and attention

In mid January was sent a recall notice. Tried to setup an appointment with my dealership for repair. They said the parts were not available yet and I would receive another card stating when it will be available. It is now mid April and no card. I have called twice and theres no status of when I can get this fuel tank recall repaired. There is a danger of underbody fire in rear collisions. I would like this repaired immediately.

I have once again called my Jeep dealership and once again they tell me the parts are still not available to fix this problem.this recall was dated June 2013 - it is now March 2014 - it is going on one year - just how long does it take them to get this part available" if they can not get these parts available now why are they not being held responsible to get me a safer vehicle? they should either get the parts now or get me a safer vehicle now! what are they waiting for? more people to be injured"

This is the third notice I have received regarding the important safety recall of my Jeep Liberty. It says Chrysler intends to install an oem trailer hitch to better manage crash forces in low-speed impacts, but the parts required are still not available. I drive my Jeep around in fear everyday of someone hitting me and exploding into flames with my children inside. I've read articles saying the Jeep is a worse death trap than the pinto ever was! please tell me when will this be rectified?
