Liberty Sport

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,000 miles

Purchased my 2006 Jeep and had it for a year. I've experienced hard jerks when changing gears and after taking off the car will periodically jerk while in motion. I'm also experiencing slow acceleration and loud engine whining sounds when trying to accelerate above 50 mph. Recently, my trans temp light has come on and the problems described get worse! I was told I need to replace the transmission, researching this issue I've found that many people have the same exact problem, but there are no recalls!

2nd issue with this transmission!!! By now I am ready to drive it off the nearest cliff I can find. I would give this car away if I hated someone that badly! Instead, we had it repaired....why, I don't know.

Liberty Limited 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 64,000 miles

This problem was annoying as all get out. The car did not have that many miles on it for a transmission issue to arise. Would of''s, could of's, should of''s don't count!

Thank God for the extended warranty.

Liberty Sport 3.7L V6

Had trouble shifting from 4WD back to 2WD; made turning and parking very difficult. Replaced output shaft, seal and slinger, and drained and refilled fluid.
