I have replaced the plugs and coils, had the cylinders checked and still have the check engine light. My mechanic stated that cylinder 4 & 5 continue to show a misfire. I am highly upset about this. I have been researching and have found that there are many other complaints about this same problem. Some people have had to spend over $2000 to get it fixed. I would like Jeep to stand behind their product and correct this problem.

This model of liberty must have been built from a parts bin. Nothing I order ever fits. All faults reported and fixes on youtube cover 2002 - 2006 Liberty KJ. WTF about the 2007? Bought a new radiator, didn't fit...new alternator, didn't fit, TPS, doesn't fit. Try find any advice or the correct part...nothing!!!!!! What a piece of SHIITE!!!!!! It's my second and LAST Jeep.

Engine misfire cylinder 4/multiple cylinders. Have taken this to two Jeep dealerships and one independent garage. Most likely a valve issue addressed in Jeep technical service Bulletin 09-007-06 but that only covers the 2005 and 2006 Libertys and not the 2007 even though you KNOW this is the same engine. Here's where I'm at:

At each mileage marker below the engine light came on and blinked during idle at the first stop but stayed on solid and did not blink and subsequent stops while driving. Car idles rough.

• 79,667 – misfire happened. Bergstrom of Kaukauna, WI cleared the codes – didn’t diagnose said we'll just reset it and see what happens. • 81,236 – Bergstrom of Kaukauna, WI. Had spark plug replacement 6cyl, fuel induction service, powertrain service, battery service, powertrain service and oil change. $931.28 • 91,531 – code P0304/P0300 came on again. Bergstrom of Kaukauna, WI. Tech said it was low on gas or could have a loose gas cap. Put 4 gallons in. $120.17 (total rip off) • 92,456 – code B0300 & code 369009 – Bergstrom of Kaukauna, WI. Replaced battery that was almost dead and battery clamp that was corroded. $151.15 Service adviser (Joe V.) says techs just want to keep doing maintenance without diagnosing problems. I'm done with this place. • 100,676 miles – Tuffys Auto Service Center, Appleton, WI – Fuel induction system service kit 3 part – air intake system cleaner, fuel injection cleaner, 44K put into fuel tank. Checked spark plugs even thought I told them I had new spark plugs in and they were the correct kind Jeep spark plugs- AC delco $246.38 Paid for same service I had done at 81,236 miles. • 101,354 – Vande Hey Brantmeier Central Garage, Chilton, WI - cylinder 4 misfire again/multiple misfires. Checked compression which was 110. .I asked if this was on all of them, they said yes. I find it hard to believe all cylinders would be the same compression if only #4 is the one with the bad valve. They checked spark plugs, Swapped plug and coil from cylinder 4 to another and misfire did not leave cylinder 4. Installed new fuel injector. Installed Cleaner combustion chamber. Performed a hot soak. Tech advised a valve job to clean all valves and seats and replace valve #4 Estimate is $1565.00 • 102,000 – Jeep master Mechanic online (justanswer.com) – Tim Mohr – told him the above. His feedback was: 110 is too low for compression, it should be around 140 to 150, below 90 it won’t even fire, and at 110, it will misfire intermittently, so this is why the P0304 keeps coming back, it is easy to tell if it’s the valves or the rings, put a teaspoon of oil in that cylinder before running the compression test, and if the compression comes up with oil, then it’s a ring problem, and if it does not, then it’s a valve problem, most likely it’s the valves, and they should do all the valves when its apart.

Supposedly there is a "kit" that Jeep will send to "fix" this problem but I'm sure mine won't be covered because it's not within the years they are addressing as always.

Check Engine light came on with under 70,000 miles on it. Mechanic plugged it in and it read All Cylinders Miss Firing. Light went out, he seemed to think it was a fluke so I carried on. Two months go by, I am out of town for 2 weeks, hop in my car and the engine light comes on. I drive to the gas station and just as I pull in the Check Engine light starts to FLASH which I interpret to mean something serious. I drive right thru the gas station and to the dealership I bought the car from less than 16,000 miles ago (used). They plug it in and it says 3 Cylinders Miss Firing.

They have the car for a week and can fix two of the cylinders but not the third. They continue to work on it while I leave town for a week for work. I come back with the hope they have some news for me...NOPE. They are stumped.

Forgive me, but this is a Jeep dealership and your Jeep service department can't fix this Jeep?

They want me to replace the motor with a refurbished one for $4000. No thanks I'd rather eat the entire $11,000 I spent on this car then give them, or Jeep another cent.

Wish Detroit had never been bailed out. Jeep deserves to go bankrupt cause their cars suck.

Can we talk about this crappy vehicle? After driving Honda Accords for more than 25 years, I decided to go Jeep Liberty because of its sporty, zippy look and reliability to "get through a Minnesota winter." I purchased a new, 2007 Jeep Liberty Limited seven years ago. I've had all the issues described on this website--mysterious lights going off, two window regulators gone bad and replaced, air conditioning just stopped working, and yesterday, the engine started grinding and killed three times on the road before I got home.

I had it towed to the Chrysler/Jeep dealership and now they tell me the left cylinder head needs to be replaced to a tune of $3363! I've maintained it, never driven it on boulders or mountains, and stuck to the paved roads in our area, and now I basically have a bad engine. Yeah, well I'm done with Jeep. Today, I'm having it towed to a local independent repair shop where I should have taken it in the first place and where they told me they can fix it for less. After it's repaired, I'm driving it directly to the Toyota dealer and trading it in on a RAV4. NO MORE JEEP FOR ME!

Just purchased Jeep in March 2013. Had air-conditioner problems within 1 week. Also had to reprogram key remote all to the cost of $450.00.

Check engine light came on, check gauges light came on and car ran HOT. 23 point inspection was done and a tune up was done. Cost $500.00. Driving home from auto shop and check engine came on and ran HOT and check gauges light came on. Took it back and was told they had to reprogram code to clear check engine light, etc.

OK.........driving home for the second time, the same day, it happened again. NOW it was in such bad shape the service dept. rep. said it wasn't safe to drive because he believes it is a cracked head gasket. Won't know for sure until Monday but it will probaby cost over $2000.00. I realize this might seem like it's not a big deal, but I think it is. Hell, I could have purchased a piece of crap car for the $3000.00 that I'm going to have to pay to get it fixed. (OH, WAIT, I ALREADY DID PURCHASE A PIECE OF CRAP CAR.) THANKS CHRYSLER:(
