Both rear power windows have failed within the last 2 days. Both windows have fallen, will no longer roll up, and are currently being held up with the help of a wooden shim.

Jeep Liberty 2007 driver side window suddenly fell down and would no longer work leaving car wide open. Four days later the passenger front side window also just fell into door, no way to get windows up. One dealer says possible recall coming, another said they never heard of problem before. Being fixed under extended warranty but really is a safety issue common on Liberty's. should be Jeep recall to repair all windows before it happens again.

I own a 2007 Jeep Liberty. In April 2010, I had to have the power window regulator, motor and glass (nothing wrong with the glass) for the driver side front and rear replaced. Of course the warranty expired. I was told that the regulator failed but I had to have all replaced. I was told that the design for the 2007 regulator was changed and that is why I had to have all replaced at a cost of $425 each. Now the passenger side rear window just dropped down into the door without warning (Aug 25,2010). I assume that I will have to have the regulator, motor and glass (again nothing wrong with the glass) replaced at another $425. I am just waiting for the front passenger side glass to fall into the door and have to replace that also. I have searched the internet and found thousands of complaints regarding this issue. Some have had to have the regulators replaced three or four times. Yet there is no recall. This is a disgrace. It is totally unfair for the owners of these vehicles to have to continue to shell out this kind of money over and over again when there is clearly a design flaw. The window on my 07 Jeep Liberty started making noises when it was rolling down and up, however it only did that once and it stopped going down or up altogether. The window falls down on its own while driving, shutting the door, or even just sitting there. It falls down about an inch at first and gradually goes down about another inch. I continuously have to pull the window up myself, just to keep it up for the short amount of time. The dealership stated it was a regulator, but I had to get a whole new "upgrade" for my year of the car. I believe this is absolutely ridiculous that I have to pay for all of these parts, when it is happening to everyone. I have seen so many comments and complaints. I personally can not afford to pay for it and do not want to experience this in the future either.

I purchased a Jeep Liberty in 2007, within a few months of owning the vehicle I had to go to the dealership to get the windows fixed because they would fall down the door and off the track. This has now occurred every 3 months but all different windows in the vehicle. I have asked before why they keep needing to be replaced and I was told by the dealership that the motor for the windows is a cheap plastic part that doesn't hold up well. It has come to the point where I now have to keep pieces od wood in my glove compartment so if the window falls down I can stick the wood in the window and hold the window up.

Window carrier on rear passenger window Jeep Liberty failed while in a car wash. This resulted in window falling in its track with the consequent impact of baby in car seat exposed to soap, liquid, and associated perils of brushes and poisons. This is second identical failure of power window regulator on my vehicle and is very very common as reported in many internet forums. Vehicle is 2007 Jeep Liberty with only 8500 miles on it and the rear windows are very infrequently used or opened - maybe 20 times in the entire life of the vehicle which I have had since new!! clearly the issue is that the screw drive worm in the power window regulator is made of nylon and not steel. I have now temporarily fixed one side window with a design of my own incorporating a steel spring winding and want Chrysler to supply me with four new regulators so that I can modify all windows to an acceptable safe standard.

07 Jeep Liberty rear driver's side power window regulator failed. Window has fallen into the door. Plastic components have a high rate of failure. Research on the internet reveals that this failure happens often on this vehicle. Loss of the window can result in personal danger in case of accident or inclement weather. Personal safety is also compromised when you are not able to keep the windows up. Loss of contents of the vehicle is possible if this were to happen while the Liberty is left unattended. My "fix" was to wire the window shut. Aftermarket parts are availble on ebay and other internet stores. Jeep's fix is to replace the window and the regulator with parts from the previous model Liberty's parts bin(a better made design). Jeep needs to recall this and make the repair at their expense.

I have had two of the four window regulators fail on our Jeep Liberty, what was purchased new, at the end of 2007. This failure causes the window to fall down, into the door and has been identified as a design flaw, enough that Jeep has completely re-designed the regulator and window. I had the first fail at 36,600 miles, last June (just passed warranty) and the second failed in January of this year. Loosing a window on the freeway is a severe safety issue- and not to mention how your families ears feel afterwards. There are numerous issues with the design of this window regulator, found on carcomplaints.com, and hope that it can afford your offices attention.

2007 Jeep Liberty window regulators continually failing. My passenger front window regulator failed 6 months after purchasing the car. The dealer replaced it under warranty. Now the drivers window wont roll up normally. It gets crooked in the track when attempting to roll it up. I have to pull the window up with my hand while pressing the button at the same time. The passenger window has gotten slow to roll up again. It can take 30 seconds to roll up and you can here the strain on its motor. I am afraid that this load put on the reg motor will eventually cause a fire since it is put under such a tremendous strain to raise the window. The mechanic that replaced the passenger window reg. Said that all Jeep Liberty window regulators will fail due to bad design. He replaces them all the time (jokingly his partners call him the Jeep window man! ) he also stated " you are lucky because alot of window regs that fail cause the window to suddenly drop off the track and fall down into the door and usually shatter. A co-worker of mine had this happen while driving down the freeway. Window was up and suddenly dropped down and shattered inside the door scaring him to death. This wide spread complaint by most Jeep Liberty owners had gone ignored by Jeep and they are profiting largely from it. With the average fix costing around $400 per window and most owners are replacing multiple windows, regulators, this is along the same lines as the current Toyota recalls going on. All trying to make cheap parts and reap the benefits of increased parts sales. I am afraid to roll down any of my windows and this could be deadly if a fire were to occur. Check on the amount of complaints with this issue and you will find enough complaints to force a recall. Customers are spending tremendous amounts of money to replace parts that Jeep just doesn't want to fix because the profit is to high. Please help us!!!!!!! Two previous rear window failures and a third Thursday Feb. 04, 2010. I have not contacted the dealer for this latest failure, I am out of warranty and this is a expensive fix. Park my vechicle in front of my home all windows up, my wife comes home and informs me my right rear window is all the down. Window would not right it self when engaged the engine and the window up control.

We have a 2007 Jeep Liberty and this is the 3rd time in 2 years that we will have to have a window regulator replaced. My wife and I came back to the car and found the window down about 3" when we tried to roll it back up nothing happened. We attempted to take it in around the end of October because it was making a grinding noise, but the dealership said they did not have time to fix it that day. Now our warranty is expired and we will have to pay for this repair. I feel Jeep needs to step up to the plate and recall these regulators.

Driver's window began to slide almost immediately after purchase in Dec. 2008. Back passenger window stuck about 2 inches down and then suddenly came crashing down while I was on the interstate. It nearly scared me to death! the back window is in the door. We try to keep the window covered and are not currently driving the vehicle because we can't afford the repair right now. Occasionally the wind pulls the protective covering off, and we have rain stains on the seats as a result. My understanding is they no longer make this regulator because it is faulty, so the glass have to be replaced also with the new regulator at a cost of about $500 per window. This is crazy for the consumer to have to pay for a faulty product. I have contacted Jeep, but they do not seem concerned. I am shocked and saddened to find so many complaints about the same thing and for Chrysler/Jeep not be held accountable.

My drivers side window began to stick and move up and down very slowly all of a sudden one day. I drove my Jeep to the store, at which time my window was correctly in place. When I came out approximately 15 minutes later my window had sunk all the way into the door. I was told by my mechanic that the error was with the window regulator. This is an extremely common problem with Jeep Liberty owners and it is not only very expensive to fix, but it is a big safety hazard when windows do not work properly. Especially when it is December and very cold.
