When I bought the Jeep from Landmark in Independence, MO - I really thought I was buying a 2012 but when I changed the color from white to black, I guess I bought a 2011 instead so that was my first surprise -- when winter came a couple of months later, I was surprised the temperature and blower in the Jeep were had to regulate or even predict for that matter. Nevertheless I lived with it and tolerated the quirks until this year...

In the summer, my air conditioner quit and I had Christian Brothers on NW Barry Road in Kansas City, MO look at it - several hundreds of dollars later they fixed it but I never asked about the heater and sure enough - here comes the cold weather and there is no heat just cool to lukewarm air blowing out of the vents. Christian Brothers wants I think $89 to even take the time to look at it and from the sounds of his explanation - it sounded like I was going to be in for another several hundreds of hours.

Now it looks like this is a known problem with these Jeeps so why has this problem been allowed to continue? I keep the car up - all new fluids, oil and filter changed this week, it has nice new tires on it and kept in serviced appropriately. Seriously, it's in excellent condition as most miles were highway miles. I haven't really had any problems with it - except with the heater and a/c! So, do I have any options or is there an alternate heat source I can use besides my heated seats before I have to forfeit Christmas gifts and go get it fixed?

Living in central Arizona, heaters aren't used much. When the weather dropped into the 40's, I would've like to have heat in my Jeep & found it blows colder air than the air conditioner in August! I have yet to get it fixed. This is the first time in the years I've had this Jeep that I've had a problem with it - the cigarette lighter doesn't work for charging phones, etc. That is also annoying but barely worth mentioning - wondering if there's something in the dash that is shorting out?
