I bought a Jeep thru randy wise durand 3 monthss ago. Since buying it is has been relaired w or 3 times for the enginee randomly stopping while driving. This past time I was on the highway going 70 with a semi behind me when the engine for no reason just stopped running. We were almost killed because the Jeep went from 70 to 0 with a semi behind us that almost slammed us. It just "shuts off" when it feels like it. Randy wise has not offered a replacement and cannot seem to fix it. A witness is available.

The vehicle shuts off while driving. The battery is fine however I lose all power. It is as if there is no fuel even though I have a ful tank. The traction light comes on along with the check engine light. I roll to a stop and let the Jeep sit then turn the key and it starts right up. There is no warning or indication when it will ovcur. The check engine light will disappear after driving for a time and so I am told there is no code to be pulled. Im stuck driving a machine that may or may not try to end me. Tons of people have had a similar issue however my VIN does not seem to be included in the recall.

Total tipm failure, with engine, brakes, steering, airbags failing all at once, with no warning, in traffic. 87 yr. Old with near fatal breakdown. Contacted Jeep, sent in documentation, told 6 mths. For reimbursement, then refused because VIN did not match recall list. Part was backordered because of mass failure.

While driving, the engine stalls out. This happened once 2 weeks ago and the engine light came on. However, the light was off the following morning. Today, it happened twice, and the engine light is back on. I was driving less than 55mph both times on city streets and not turning. When the engine stalls, all power is lost to the steering and breaking system.

Was traveling down a city street. After approximately 100 feet past an intersection, the warning chime and check engine came on approximately a few seconds before the vehicle completely stalled. I lost brakes and power steering. Attempting to switch transmission to park and neutral while vehicle was coasting but could not. I have a bad back so I did not utilize the parking/emergency brake. Once vehicle came to a stop I was able to force the transmission to park after a few attempts. Tried restarting vehicle and it would just continuously crank, but would not turn over. Had public assistance to help get it in neutral and push the vehicle off the busy roadway. Called dealership and was advised to have it towed in. Called for tow, was taken to dealer for repair. Dealer replaced crank sensor and updated PCM.

I am writing in regard to the investigation PE12-032. I own a 2012 Jeep Patriot. The vehicle has stalled repeatedly (4 times - 2 times in July 2012, 1 time in November, and 1 time in December) when cruising at a steady highway speed (65 to 75 mph) on a slight down gradient on the interstate. Each time the vehicle had been on the road for two hours or more prior to becoming disabled and required a tow from the highway. Each time the vehicle had between 1/8th and 3/8ths of a tank of fuel. When the Patriot was unloaded from the flat bed tow truck, it started immediately on each occasion and the Chrysler repair shops could not find a code that indicated the vehicle experienced any problem. The dealers said because there were no diagnostic codes, they would not fix anything. Please help me resolve the issue. I will give you any help I can. Chrysler's case number is [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
