Patriot Sport 2.4L 4 cyl

  • CVT transmission
  • 53,000 miles

At time the transmission would slip and bang into gear. Felt like the engine was getting hit by a huge sledgehammer. Along with this the car would occasionally have this hesitation problem, which earlier this month when we took it back again they diagnosed it as needing new spark plugs. I replaced them myself, however they looked OK, and my Honda's plugs looked far worse when I replaced them.

Patriot 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,000 miles

God answered my prayer and finally wold this fiat piece of trash. Jeep should be ashamed to put what used to be a proud , tough american vehicle on this hunk of garbage! Transmission broke 3 times, major! Engine leaking oil, windows wont close, plastic parts breaking and falling off ! Engine sounds like its gonna blow up on highway. Cruise control causes engine to stall ! Dealer says all this is normal???? Try upgrades at dealer and only gets worse. All this and more on a brand new fiat/jeep with 9000 miles!!!! I have never seen a vehicle of any make that was as big a mistake as this one. Jeep is gone forever. If you think that this is an isolated problem just google "jeep complaints" or go to any jeep service department and see for yourself. This is the worst car on earth and if you buy one you will without a doubt have major problems. Buy any brand but fiat/jeep.

Patriot

  • Automatic transmission
  • 53,000 miles

My 2014 Jeep Patriot that I have only had for 10 months is having transmission problems. It started with the ETC light coming on and blinking for a seasons at which point the transmission starts powering down. After it did this 3 times my transmission started slipping. I took the Jeep to the dealership from which I baught it. First they hooked up an IPad to it which cam back with a code saying the problem was covered by the warranty. Then without even touching the Jeep with any other computer they came back with a report saying it was the wiring harness to the transmission. At which point they changed their story and said that it was not covered by the warranty and would cost me about $650 to fix. First off the only reason I bought this vehicle was because it had a warranty and was suppose to be reliable. If I wanted something that wouldn't even last a year I would have went to a buy here pay here used car dealer ship and spent the money I put towards just the down payment on this Jeep to buy an older model vehicle.
