Patriot

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

The sunroof leaks into the lights above your head, and as soon as I began to drive, the water dumped all over me. I previously had a 2016 Jeep with the same issue only - that time the sunroof opened randomly in the middle of winter and dumped snow on me. (I think the water buildup was in the same location as the wiring for the sunroof causing it to open.)

It's pretty dangerous as you can imagine - having water/snow dumped on you while driving can effect visibility even if only for a few moments.

Patriot Sport 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,211 miles

This is ABSOLUTELY unacceptable! The vehicle was purchased brand new! Only had 5211 miles on it when this began. Went around a turn and water pours out of the map lamps! Real nice! Read many blogs and posts about this issue and researched on you tube. Going to try a Youtube fix first, then I guess try the dealer route. What a joke after years of this problem how can they keep installing sun roofs in their Jeeps? I just want to be able to fix it myself rather than go the course of phone calls, appointments, time wasted on 0 results!

Patriot High Altitude 2.0L 4 cyls

  • Automatic transmission
  • 2,300 miles

This Jeep is less than a month brand new and we had about 5 gallons of water rushing out of the ceiling and lights. Jeep has had it for a week and they called yesterday and said that they could not replicate the leak, but had not removed anything to begin a process of inspection....Sooo I guess they stood next to my Jeep for a week and ran the water hose over the sunroof? No wonder they are not able to make repairs.
