Lights went out while driving at high speed at night making it very hard to handle car and pull off the road. Als olet me stranded in the dessert (pump would not pump gas)

Wasn't due for an oil change for 3000 miles I use synthetic rod blew while on freeway with my daughter in the car. No brakes no warning no steering we could have died! Chrysler turning their head! mechanic says it's a defect in engine and never seen an engine blow at 64,000 miles and still have all proper levels of fluids! I was going 65 miles an hour on a freeway thank god it was a straight stretch and I was in the right lane, had there been a turn or had we have been on a bridge we would have died or seriously injured someone else!

Drove my car and everything was fine. Parked car at my apartments and smelled something that smelled like a fire. Went to the other side and saw fire coming from under the hood. Within minutes the fire consumed the entire front of my Jeep Wrangler. I never had any problems before this not even a check engine light was on.

Heavy oil consumption 3-4 quarts every 2000 miles.. I bought the Jeep new in Aug. 2010 it has 48200 miles on it.. it is just out of warranty. Took it to the dealer and called Chrysler. They wont do anything and told me they have never heard of that. So I took it to a local machine shop and they told me that the piston rings are sticking to the pistons allowing oil into the combustion chamber. Their are many complaints online about this exact problem

The contact owned a 2010 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated that while driving at 15 mph, burning fumes emitted in and around the vehicle. After inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed flames and fuel leaking in the engine compartment. The contact attempted to extinguish the fire but the vehicle engulfed into flames. A police report was not filed and no injuries were sustained. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 60,000.

I was driving to work on 10-5-15 when a drunk driver pulled out in front of me, I had no time to stop but when my 2010 Jeep Wrangler unlimited hit their vehicle, I immediately smelled and saw smoke comming from the engine compartment of my Jeep. I drove to the side of the road where I quickly got out and made it just in time because the vehicle quickly burst into flames. My airbags also did not deploy which I thought odd because I was traveling around 45 mph at the time of the accident.

I was driving my Jeep to work when all the sudden white smoke entered the cap. I rolled the window down to vent the smoke and saw flames at my feet. I pulled the Jeep over to the side of the highway just in time for the brakes to fail. After putting the emergency brake on so it would roll into another car I jumped out of the car just in time to see the flames eat the hood of my Jeep and work its way back through my entire vehicle. I watched as the fire department put out the fire over and over and over. Since it had a full tank of gas my Jeep was distroyed. I put $70,000 of parts into my Jeep and it was all eaten by a fire in 20 minutes. I got the oil changed done at the dealership and was never told about a recall. I never recieved any piece of mail notifying me of any recall. I didn't know about the fire issues until I started to research what the problem might have been. The fire department said that they will investigate it but that there really isn't anything left of the Jeep to find the origin. The problem happened 3 times. Two at very low speeds during the day, and once at night at high speed. The first time it happened, I was driving the Jeep and the engine stalled. It was hard to steer, but I was moving slow. I thought it was a weird fluke. I put the car in park and restarted it with no problem. The second time it my husband was driving, we had just pulled out of our neighborhood and the Jeep stalled. The breaks don't work well, and the steering is difficult. He put the Jeep in neutral and restarted it with no problem. The third time it happened, was on January 10, 2015. I was driving at night with my child on a long trip. I had been driving the Jeep for several hours on the interstate. It happened at around 10:00 pm - it was very dark. I was in the passing lane going about 65 mph when the engine stalled, the headlights went out, all the interior lights went out, dashboard went dark, and I knew from the previous two times, that if I applied the breaks or tried to steer, it would be very difficult. I decided that I didn't want to look down and try to find neutral and accidentally put it in a low gear. So I turned the ignition switch and everything came back on (engine, light inside and out, power steering, and power breaks) while the Jeep was in drive traveling at 65 mph. I took it to the Jeep dealer to have it repaired. They told me that the trans range sensor went bad. My main concern is - why is the engine stalling and Jeep losing all power while moving when the sensor goes bad" there was no warning light to let me know a sensor was bad. Are all Jeep designed with this sensor, and will all Jeep experience the same thing if their trans range sensor goes bad, or was it just something that happened with my specific vehicle"

The heater core is leaking I believe because I smell antifreeze in the Jeep when heat is on I contacted Jeep they said its not a safety issue so will not fix I think it is a safety issue I have 5 kids and a wife who travel in there and all complain of headaches after riding in there. I googled the problem and thousands of Jeep owners had the same issue bad heater cores.

Initially, after moderate acceleration from a stop to 35 mph, engine elicits a new loud rattling sound. This sound directly corresponds to engine RPM dramatically increasing with RPM over 2000. When decelerating from a higher RPM, the sound increases until moderate acceleration is again applied. The sound emanates from the upper right engine area at all times during engine operation. This sound first occurred within one week of a dealer oil change and continues unchanged after 1400 miles. There is no noticeable change in vehicle performance. Gas mileage efficiency has decreased by one to two miles per gallon.

I have had several big issues with my Jeep in the last month and a half. First my brake caliper and piston were frozen due to the fluids not flowing properly according to my mechanic. 2 weeks later my airbag light came on and stayed on brought it into the dealership and they needed to replace my clock spring and the third issue was my engine light that came on and then my car would not start. I needed to replace my alternator which was faulty and then drained my battery which I also had to replace. These three issues have cost me over $1000 dollars in a short period of time. I was wondering if any of them are a issue with my make and model and year of my vehicle. This is becoming I safety issue in my eyes. Especially my brakes and airbag issue.

I was coming back from lunch break and was getting ready to pull into the parking space at work, when I shift the shifter back to neutral... the shifter broke off. It looks like the welding job was not to standar. From my visual inspection of the welding I can see air pockets. Luckly I was not on a highway or else this could have turn ugly for me.

This Jeep has never been used for any type of off roading, yet it has a burnt smell coming from the transmission. It was taken to the dealer where it was checked however they could not determine what was causing the burnt smell and smoke coming from the transmission. It has now been checked a couple of times, where only an transmission oil change was performed because they never found out the problem. I can only hope I do not become a statistic, before the problem is found.

The recent recall by Jeep on the 2010 Wrangler does not fit the situations that have been occurring. Several owners have experienced spontaneous fires, and were not in any off-road situation that could have cause debris to collect on or near the catalytic converter. They were simply driving home from work, or on the highway. One owner, who contacted me, had 16 miles on it (2012 model), and had just picked it up from the dealership. It caught on fire on his way home. Another owner had 600 miles on it (another 2012 model) and it was sitting in front of his home. Numerous have not been on the 2010 models either. The debris that "collected" under my vehicle was not burned up in the fire, and not even in that same location. I believe that this "recall" is Jeep's attempt to bandage a larger issue they are hiding from the public. Video from my fire clearly shows a liquid (tranny fluid or fuel) pouring from the vehicle from the very beginning of the fire. My feeling is that it's a tranny cooler overflow problem, or a bad fuel line connection. Here is a link to the facebook page that I created for others to post their experiences.
