Wrangler Sport Limited 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 74,000 miles

This is the second time this issue has occurred. The Jeep dealer put a stabilizer on the front end and this fixed the problem for a time. This second time I had a friend to do the same thing, since I thought that would fix it again and the Jeep dealer where I bought the Jeep and have had it serviced there since the original purchase, didn't have time to get to it until over a week later. I had two trips out of town scheduled and had to have it fixed as soon as possible. After looking up the death wobble, as I have come to learn this issue has been named, it appears that the issue is not yet fixed and I can expect it to happen again. I have been told that Jeep will not fix this issue which they know about, and avoid fixing it the third time so as to avoid the "lemon" law. It is the most scary thing I've had to occur, short of a car wreck. It feels like the Jeep is going to fall apart right out from under you. When I looked at the videos that are on YouTube about this, I couldn't believe what the front end does and that Jeep will not fix this. When I need to replace this vehicle I don't know whether I will even look at another Jeep!

I have 2010 Jeep Rubicon. Sometimes I really do regret it, even though I love my Jeep.

This is the second time having this problem. I don't recall what was done the first time, but this time they are replacing steering box, which is covered under the extended warranty with $100 deductible and the Track Bar is Not covered.

I think this is a Safety Issue and Should be fix by Jeep!! This should NOT come out of our pockets!!! I am thankful I took the Extended Warranty because it seems like there is always something going wrong with my Jeep.

  • Manual transmission

Took car into dealer about year ago for death wobble and they tightened somethings. Not really sure what they did. Then recently on 12/18/2014 experienced death wobble on at least 5 occasions when hitting bumps in road on I-65 driving from Louisville to Indianapolis. Last one was severe and my clutch went out and unable to get car in gear. The car is at a dealer in Seymour Indiana presently and they are looking at the death wobble issue. The replaced the clutch. I am scared to drive my car! I do not know if the death wobble is related to clutch issue. I have received all my regular service through my Jeep dealer where I purchased the car.

Wrangler Unlimited 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission

Once again I had the horrible experience of what I now know is called the "Death Wobble". It is still the scariest feeling to have on the highway, in the fast lane, moving at highway speeds. It's scary because there is no warning just the sudden crazy shaking and tugging on the steering, the sound of the car falling apart and the feeling that you're going to flip over. Also, because this happens so sudden, I almost caused cars to run into me and into each other. The only way to get this to stop and under control is by coming to an almost complete stop.

What is it going to take for Jeep to fix this completely, do I need to get into a wreck? This time I have decided to trade in my Jeep for a Chevy truck. I had kids in the vehicle and I cannot risk an accident because Jeep will not take responsibility for this defect. The vehicle is beautiful, but it is not beautiful enough to risk the lives of my loved ones and other drivers.

If this problem has been part of the Jeep culture for at least 15 years - why has Chrysler not had a recall and fix it?
