Wrangler Unlimited Sport 3.6L V6 Penstastar

  • Automatic transmission
  • 88,000 miles

About 6 months ago to the day, the transmission pan had to be replaced because of rust developing in the area where the magnet to capture gear shaving was located. The vehicle was taken to a Jeep/Dodge certified dealership and the pan had and parts had been replaced using all Mopar OEM parts and fluids. Well, last week the transmission began to slip in 2nd gear.

The vehicle was diagnosed to have a bad transmission. Six months ago the pan and filter were replaced but the dealership had not mentioned any metal shavings that could be from the transmission The transmission would have failed back a long time ago but why is it failing now? They told me to ride it out until it fails but that would put me at risk as I’m driving. Do I shell out money and give the bill to the dealer or is there something that Fiat Chrysler can help me with?

No mods to the transmission or engine, not even the suspension or the differentials. The vehicle was kept stock and driven with care with the 4x4 only used to park during the winter time since it was purchased in 2010.

Wrangler Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 105,000 miles

This jeep has a bad transmission! It overheats no matter what. Mine failed. Had the seals totally replaced and it still fails. This is the worst vehicle ever! All my other vehicles performed flawlessly. As easy as I drove the jeep with so much care it kept on overheating finally it smoked, and the fluid spills like no tomorrow. I am not impressed at all with the performance, and being that this jeep should be performing what it is designed to do, it is really a big joke.

Wrangler Sport 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 56,000 miles

My jeep wrangler started making a small noise about a week ago when i went into second gear. Now to find out that my 2010 Jeep with 56K miles on it needs a new transmission and I'm just out of warranty. What the f*cking f*cking f*ck. My last car went up to 156K before i had to do this. Really sad. Not sure if i will buy a Jeep again.
