I am very upset that my Jeep had to go through this. It cost me almost $1000 to have this oil issue fixed. This oil issue I hear is common and that Chrysler will not help any of us to be reimbursed for any issue that they are fully aware that happens and leaves us with the cost of fixing the issue. I think they need to setup and help us with the cost.

The OFA (Oil Filter Assembly)... what some call the Oil Cooler / Filter Housing... has a plastic part and an aluminum part, and they separated from each other. It was estimated by the local shop to take 3 hours to install a new assembly, plus almost $500-worth of parts. Total estimate was $1100! This is WAY too much for a problem that Jeep has known about since the 2014 model. This should be declared a recalled part, and Jeep should replace it for free. C'mon Jeep, time to step up!

Oil filter assembly leaking. It sounds like this has been going on since about 2011. The replacement part is on revision level AF. Check out Facebook page "Jeep owners of America". Several complaints about this.

I am beginning to think I have a really faulty engine. I just thought the oil cooler was leaking after it failed and was replaced.

Turns out the Rear Main Seal yet again requires replacement and that damn release bearing rattles all the time.

Dealership did their job again in replacing the release bearing and Rear Main Seal.

No one wanted to entertain the idea that I have got to be dealing with a faulty main bearing or something to that likeliness.......

It shall continue at this point, I am sure!

After replacing the Rear Main Seal several times now the upper skirt/oil pan area around the rear main seal is leaking. Could it be because some other work has previously occurred there?

Well, back in the shop and it cost me $100 on top of the warranty work and the loss of using my vehicle.

Another Rear Main Seal event. The rear main seal was just replaced last year. I am hearing the seal is poorly designed by folks at the dealership...

Upon my inspection after the job the transmission seal (big piece of foam) is crushed/broken and falling/cockeyed between the transmission and body.

Occurred on a trip to the mountains and had to continue replenish oil until reaching home.

Weeks later I would see more oil leaking by this time it was yet another REAR MAIN SEAL leak.

My major complaint was the rattling of the throw-out/release bearing on the clutch. It rattled for months before I could get it replaced and when I could finally get the dealer to look at it (they said they could never replicate it) they found the oit leak from the rear main seal (PN 68223854-AA). Release Bearing (PN 53008342)

Intially I brought the Jeep in at 58,832 miles and the dealer decided to make effect repairs at 60,387 miles. This was to be my first Rear Main Seal replacement of four more in years to come. Eventually I had to replace the whole clutch assembly at my cost.

Noticed oil pooling on my driveway. Quick google search showed it is a common problem among all Chrysler jeep dodge vehicles with plastic oil filter housing assemblies.

Bought this JK new in 2015, had an issue with engine knocking about a year ago. They replaced the lifters on the passenger side no charge under warranty. Go to drive it and notice a pool of oil under the car. After further inspection it was a significant oil leak. Brought it to the dealer. Still there today awaiting a response. However, the dealer has been a problem in the past, so will update.
