Check engine light goes off and on. Vehicle stalls when slows down, requiring restarting while driving or having to pull over.

Dealer states problem is sludge in engine. Charging me to remove sludge. Can't understand why/how. Vehicle is fairly new.

So my wife primarily drives this vehicle and for about a month she kept saying that every so often it would shake while accelerating from a light, the check engine light would come on briefly and then go back off. I used my own scan tool to check the codes in the system and found a cylinder 2 misfire code. We took it in the dealership and had them diagnose the problem. At first they said they didn't see any codes present, but when I mentioned that I saw a code for cylinder 2 misfire, they decided to take another look. They ended up replacing 1 ignition coil. The next day when my wife was on her way to work she called me and told me it did it again. I pulled the code and it was the same thing. Cylinder 2 misfire. I looked under the hood and found that the new coil was on cylinder 1. We took it back a few days later and had them look at it again. They told me that they had swapped the coil on purpose to verify the ignition coil and it just so happened that the other coil had failed too. They replaced that one as well, and so far it has been driving fine. It's a bit unusual that these coils are going out so soon, especially when this vehicle has low miles and is driven very lightly by my wife. Will definitely keep an eye on the other two coils that are still original.

Really. How can a new car that's only 4 months old now have 2 check engine lights that have come on. The first one on 4-23-17 and now again on 4-29-17. Only 2 days after I had taken it in to have it's first service and was told the check engine light was on because of a software update that was for coolant. I am not a happy camper and of course service was close on Saturday but I left a message I will be there at 8am on Tuesday morning for this problem to be fixed. Did I get sold a lemon?

I brought my car December 5, 2017=not sure if I believe the reason for light coming on was due to software/hardware update. I've only had this car for 4 months. My first service was due so no charge for the work done.
