problem #2

Sedona 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,000 miles
The contact owns a 2006 Kia Sedona. The contact stated that the arm rest in the middle row seats has two plastic pieces that do not meet or fit over the arm rest. While his daughter was seated in one of the middle row seats, she moved right to left and the plastic piece caused a severe laceration to her skin. He notified the dealer and the manufacturer and they stated that the seat was designed in that manner. The manufacturer provided him with reference number K1320663. The failure mileage was 4,000 and current mileage was 6,000.

Sedona 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles
During harder braking in a Kia Sedona van, the second row seat flipped forward and clobbered the driver's (mine) head. I was so startled that I had no control of the vehicle for a few seconds. Nothing was hit. This was because the second row seats flip forward to allow rear entry but they do not necessarily re-latch when putting them upright again, either from a lack of re-latching force or debris/carpet interference with the latch.
