This problem was reported to the local Kia Dealership mid January. I was told there was a problem with this camera and a new source was to supply a better camera. These were on order as two other Kia owners had a similar problem and I was now third on a list to have it replaced. I was leaving for an extended trip to Florida at the end of January and the replacement camera was not received by the dealer before I left. I asked if my Kia standard warranty would be honored in the U.S. and I was assured it would be.

Upon arriving in Clearwater I visited Lokey Kia and explained my problem. They were totally indifferent to my plight and the Service Manager himself refused to replace the camera. He stated his reasons for this decision was due to the problem getting both the authorization and reimbursement from Kia Canada. I was extremely frustrated. Little did I know that was only part of my frustration. I spent the rest of my vacation without the camera.

When I returned to my home town I went back to the Dealership and asked to have the camera replaced. They looked up my open work order and incredibly told me the camera was still on back order. I could hardly believe it as it was now April 3rd. I asked when it might be expected and I was told they didn't know as it was from a new supplier. This was ridiculous. I went on Twitter and spouted off to my followers and within minutes I had a tweet from Kia Canada asking me to call them and explain my plight. I did this and was assured they would find out what was going on. That was two weeks ago and the lady at Kia Canada has called me three times to tell me she still can't tell me when I might be able to get my camera. What a totally ridiculous situation. I now have been without a back up camera on a 2014 Sorento for three months. As I stated "a pain in the ass". If this is Kia's customer service I am definitely not impressed.

For the record, other problems, which have been solved quickly, I have had are; Driver's seat traveler replaced as the seat moved all the way forward and would not move back. The cruise control switch on the steering needed to be replaced. The driver's seat heater malfunctioned although I think this was as a result of a poor repair on the seat traveler.

I love the car, disappointed with the faults, but totally disgusted with the camera issue. I previously owned 3 different Acura MDX's without any issues, I guess you get what you pay for.

Update from Apr 28, 2015: I received a call from Kia explaining that my camera would be available sometime during the week of May 15. I lost it telling the customer service rep. I was taking to social media advising everyone how the after market service Kia boasted about was non existent. I asked the rep how it was possible for Kia to continue producing Sorentos with back up cameras and yet it was taking 5 months to have one replaced under warranty. She had no response. I hung up and 5 minutes later she called me back and asked me not to do anything and give her the rest of that day and she would see if she could do something better. At 4:30 p.m. that same day she called and told me the part had been shipped to my local dealer. I did not ask how she managed to get the part that fast, I can only assume the threat of me taking to social media had something to do with it.
The issue didn't end there when I went to my local dealer 3 days later, they had received a camera but it wasn't for my Sorento, it was ear marked for someone else. This despite the Kia customer service rep assuring me the camera was specifically for my vehicle. I threatened to call Kia while at the dealer and they relented and assigned the camera to me. I felt somewhat sorry for the other customer, I guess he/she didn't push hard enough to get their camera replaced. Happy in the end to get my replacement camera. Now I have to get reacquainted with using it since I've been without it for over 13 weeks.
