The contact owns a 2016 Kia Sorento. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed however, the vehicle was slow to respond. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact called matt blatt Kia (6211 E black horse pike, egg harbor township, NJ 08234, (609) 573-3100) however, the vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was referred to the dealer for assistance. The contact stated the failure was similar to NHTSA campaign number: 15V089000 (vehicle speed control). The failure mileage was 124,510.

While driving on the highway a person suddenly brakes in front of me driving normal speed of about 35- 55, miles per hr, , I slammed on my brakes and my SUV, did not stop, I merged to left not to hit the car in front of me, god did the rest. I slumped over with my anxiety out of the roof, I realized it was smoking so I turned off, the engine, , there was grid lock traffic ahead, waited until I and it cooled down, calmly I realized there was no more smoking, drove home safely, this happened multiple times and each time, they Kia dealer and Kia consumer service said, there was no recall and there was no guarantee they would repair the vehicle and I was responsible for the towing and findings at this point there is no recall on my vehicle 2016 Kia sorrento, please help I am on anxiety medication increase, I am afraid to drive however no one is taking responsibility through Kia, as of today, I appreciate all your assistance

I have a 2016 Kia Sorento that stalls at low speed. It's like you turn the switch off, and then after a few seconds, it surges forward. It has done it while entering traffic, and almost caused an accident. I have taken it to the dealer several times, and they say they can't do anything because it does not throw a code. There was a recall on the 2016 models for a faulty accelerator module, but my VIN was not included in it.

The contact owned a 2016 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that while driving out of the driveway, when she crashed into a stone lining up the pathway. The contact placed the vehicle into reverse when the vehicle surged in reverse crashing into the contact's garage. No airbags deployed. The contact received an injury to their shoulder and medical attention was needed. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed and deemed totaled. The contact contacted the dealership (friendly Kia 5819 us-19, new port richey, fl 34652; (877) 544-6719) who did not diagnose a failure, however, they attempted to file a class action form. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 47,000.

Lose of power. Mechanical put in computer. Turbo defective. Told shouldn't drive, as lose of power while driving, severe safety issue. This issue is applicable toward driver and orher vehicles and its driver/passengers on the road.

The contact owns a 2016 Kia Sorento. The contact stated that while driving and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to increase in speed. The vehicle was taken to an unknown facility where it was repaired but the parts replaced were unknown. The following week while driving at low speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle accelerated violently. As a result, the contact crashed into a cement barrier. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact did not sustained injuries. The front passenger sustained chest, back, arm injuries and a bruise to the left breast but medical attention was not provided. A police report was filed. The vehicle was driven by an independent mechanic to his repair facility with caution. A dealer was not contacted and the manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 15V089000 (vehicle speed control). The failure mileage was 60,244.

Driving on highway at 65 miles per hour and car suddenly lost all power and came to complete stop in heavy traffic. Vehicle restarted after 2 attempts. Took to Kia dealer for inspection and there was no recorded code and they were unable to re-create issue so nothing was done. Reading other complaints of sudden stalls on this site makes driving this vehicle scary. The vehicle has only 31K miles on it and has had no other issues. Kia should be doing something before someone has a tragic accident!

When pressing on the acceclarator pedal, the vehicle will start to accelerate then it will not accelerate. Check engine light comes on. This happens when I am in motion going over 20 mph.

"takata recall" Kia Sorento 2016 model sx-AWD it started making weird noises from the engine and felt little thumps when I press on the accelerator and binding noise from the rear of the vehicle from the beginning of 2019. The car does not exceed over 90mph.

After stopping at a stop sign and starting to enter the highway I lost accelerated power. It did accelerate but very slowly. The car got up to about 20mph. No matter how hard I pressed the gas petal it didn't cause the car to accelerate. This can have been a very danger situation.

Takata recall while driving my car, it completely shut off in the middle of the road. It was almost like it was out of gas but had a full tank gas. We tested the battery also. It still failed to start back. It would not start back after multiple attempts and I had to get it towed yesterday. The mechanics I had it towed to says they think it may have something to do with the engine but are unsure.

Takata recall 1 month ago I picked my son up from school...as I was pulling out of the parking lot I was unable to accelerate by pushing the gas pedal. I coasted home going 8 miles per hour. I turned the vehicle off and let it sit for 2 days. When I got back in it everything was working fine. 2 weeks later I went to have my oil changed and was told there were metal shavings in my oil filter, there were 2 inches of sludge and the oil was black. I keep my vehicle serviced regularly because I commute to work. They changed my oil and I left. 10 minutes later I was on the side of the road. I was driving to the store and again I couldn't push the gas pedal to accelerate and a knocking sound appeared. As I tried to pull to the side of the road I look in my rear view mirror to see a white cloud of smoke coming from my car. So thick I couldn't see behind me. I coasted into a parking lot and at this point I had no control of the steering, gas pedal, or breaks. I finally rolled to a stop outnit in park and got out of my car. Every drop of oil they had put in my car was on the pavement. I called a tow truck and we found a huge hole in the oil pan where my engine had apparently thrown a rod. There are 6 recalls on the year make and model of my car but not specifically on my VIN. Everything that has gone wrong involves those recalls and Kia isn't owning up to it. My brother works for true car and ran a report finding that there are recalls on my vehicle but Kia is saying it is inaccurate. I have the report in my possession and they wouldn't allow me to send it to them for proof.

The engine idles at 1500 RPM at all times, once the idles drops to normal as you are driving the idle jumps back up to 1500 RPM. Sometimes if you turn engine off then on again the idle goes back to normal, then it will go back to 1500 RPM.

Vehicle will accelerate and then lose power. Took it in they said not covered under warranty. $450 to fix tailghts and headlights all went out within a week of each other. Wheels sensors keep saying low tires even after new tires out on.

While coming to a stop with the brake pedal engaged the engine started to accelerate. I stood on the brake but the car kept creeping forward. I threw the shifter into nuetral and then into park. The engine quit accelerating and every thing worked as it was suppose too. I came within a couple of inches of the car infront of me.

The vehicle was taken to Carolina Kia of high point (866-824-7081, located at 2445 N main St, high point, nc 27262), but the failure could not be duplicated. The failure recurred and the vehicle was towed to battleground Kia (336-295-1542, located at 2927 battleground ave, greensboro, nc 27408) where it was diagnosed that the throttle body needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was not provided.

Cancel button on steering wheel for speed control is inoperative about 30% of the time while the vehicle is in motion on highway and the speed control is active. Note: Stepping on the the brake will deactivate the speed control.

I was driving around 30 mph on a local side street and the car shut off with no warning lights illuminated on the dashboard. The dashboard went black and the car stopped running. I had to pull the car over, put it in park, turn the key to the off position. I waited a few seconds and started the car again and drove it home (~1 mile from home). I had it towed to the dealership as I did not feel it was safe to drive it there.
