heater wiring harness melted wires,-blower quit working

This is the biggest pain,- no defroster,-heater,-its been below zero degrees several days in a row! My mechanic couldnt find parts for this car. I had no car for almost 2 weeks! Merry X-mas! Mechanic said the wires melted together,-there could have been a fire! Finally got parts & replaced the heater harness! $900.00. A month later my heater now turns itself on whenever I turn the ignition key on? That is only going to get worse unless I can put a switch or something to kill electrical current form going to the relay switch? No easy fix for sure! I thought pulling fuses out of the fuse box would stop the blower motor from getting power? Nope that hasnt worked yet either! Must keep pulling fuses till I get the one that stops the power! Maybe install a toggle switch turning on power to blower motor when I must use the heater! Dam Iam so looking forward to retirement. Now I might have to replace this junker of a car because of no heater,-defroster? More car payments? What a nightmare!!!!

I would gladly have my old PLYMOUTH 74 318 TRAIL DUSTER back at least I could work on it!

I will never buy another KIA again! This problem should have never happened! But now Iam stuck with the problem from KIA! No help from them. The only help is by me writting this note telling people to stay away from KIA. The are very hard to get parts for! The 100,00 mile warranty is not as good as it sounds either. Just try to get the KIA manufacture to stand behind the faulty parts,-design like the heater harness? Good luck!
