Sportage EX V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,000 miles

It should've been covered under the warranty but Kia claimed it wasn't. It seems they love to deny warranty claims. This was the radio with Navigation that failed. Had to purchase a factory radio to replace it in order to keep my Navigation. The failure happened right after I spent 200.00 for a Nav update.

Sportage LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 35,990 miles

I have a 2009 Kia Sportage and it came with Sirius, a CD player and an Ipod dock. I discovered that the warranty on this system is only 36,000 miles, not the 100,000 mile warranty their ads say they have. At 35,990 miles the stereo started making ominous crackling noises. This happened on a Friday evening and I couldn't contact Kia until Monday, when I had gone over 36,000 and the end of the warranty. The stereo was on it's way out and needed to be replaced but Kia told me, too bad it's not under warranty any longer. I ended up in a shouting match between Kia customer service and the service manager at the dealership. I finally got them to replace the stereo under warranty but getting Kia to do the right thing was painful.

This is the first and last Kia I will ever, ever buy, POC vehicle that it is.
