Summary
"ISSUE: LAND ROVER IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON A RESOLUTION FOR THE ITEMS DETAILED BELOW FOR LG - RANGE ROVER (ALL NEW) - L405 OR LW - RANGE ROVER SPORT - L494 FOR 16 MY ONWARDS: THE RETAILER IS UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION (PDI) ON EITHER OF THE VEHICLES DETAILED ABOVE. DURING THE PDI ROUTINE, THE TECHNICIAN WILL BE UNABLE TO REMOVE THE SPEED LIMITER ON A VEHICLE WITH A 4.4 TDV8 ENGINE. WHEN THE PDI ROUTINE HAS BEEN COMPLETED, THE TECHNICIAN WILL THEN FIND THE TELEMATICS CONTROL UNIT (TCU) HAS NOT BEEN ACTIVATED DURING THE PDI ROUTINE. WHEN THEY THEN ATTEMPT TO ACTIVATE THE TCU USING SDD SERVICE FUNCTIONS THEY ARE PRESENTED WITH A LARGE AMOUNT OF VEHICLE QUALIFIER QUESTIONS. CAUSE: THREE CONCERNS HAVE BEEN IDENTIFIED: 1. THE SECURITY CONSTANTS ON SYMPTOM DRIVEN DIAGNOSTICS (SDD) DO NOT MATCH THE VEHICLE AND THIS PREVENTS SDD FROM GAINING COMMUNICATIONS WITH THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) KNOWN AS PCM IN SDD 2. A LATE CHANGE TO THE CAR CONFIGURATION FILE (CCF) RULES WHICH HAS BEEN LOADED TO THE VEHICLES WHEN THEY WERE MANUFACTURED. THIS CAUSES SDD NOT READ THE CCF WHICH THE SOFTWARE USES TO IDENTIFY WHAT"
