My Lexus is in the most dangerous category for Takata airbag recall due to the age of the airbag and the fact that i live in Texas. Lexus said the bag will not be replaced until December at the very earliest. Until that time, Lexus has said not to allow anyone to sit in the front passenger seat. This is entirely unacceptable. I have requested either a loaner or a rental for the occasions when I have family members in my car. They are handling this suggestion as though it's extraordinary request. UNBELIEVABLE. I will never, ever buy another Lexus.

Update from Sep 5, 2016: My dealer has now provided me with a rental......a 2016 Malibu with low mileage......for me to use until the Takata airbag on the passenger side has been replaced. The terms of the rental require that I drive my Lexus just enough to keep the battery charged. So, the Malibu is now my primary vehicle. I think this was a good solution and am pleased.
