This issue absolutely NEEDS to be a complete recall issue!!! It's completely unsafe to drive, due to shining reflection on the windshield as well as incredibly sticky and messy! Lexus is really dropping the ball with not repairing this issue.

IS 350 LX

  • Automatic transmission
  • 125,000 miles

The dashboard and door panels are sticky, soft, melting, cracking and it can't even be touched or cleaned. You CAN'T touch it in any way without getting it on you. Lint sticks to it and it is completely ugly and unacceptable. Lexus needs to step up to the plate and admit they failed and replace it. I couldn't sell this car to anyone and I can't even stand to look at it. It is disgusting and Lexus needs to stand behind their name and make this right!!! NEED A RECALL NOW!!!

  • Automatic transmission
  • 120,000 miles

All the panels are melting! It's pretty disgusting how the panels are just liquefying. Every time I reach for my wheel my fingernail makes an impression on the dash. It's very glossy and have also evaporated to the windshield that sometime it's quite difficult to see. Every time I reach for the door to open my nails scratches the panels and gets all over my fingernails. The back door panels are cracking everywhere. Just waiting for it to fall off in pieces!

IS 350 Sedan 4-dr 3.5L V6 24v Dohc

  • CVT transmission
  • 71,500 miles

This problem should definitely be the responsibility of Lexus. How could their be so many consumer's with the same complaint and not be the responsibility of Lexus corporation. This is not an isolated incident, there hundreds of Lexus, owner(s) with the same complaint. Lexus corporation should step up and take responsibility for this hazardous condition. Aren't Lexus, customers supposed to equate the Lexus, name with quality and workmanship!! This is an expensive vehicle not a cheap American made vehicle.

dashboard and door panels melting

I WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET MY NAV FIXED BECAUSE THAT WENT OUT TOO. THEY COULDN'T BECAUSE MY DASH WAS MELTED AND THEY DIDN'T WANT TO REMOVE THE NAV. THEY SAID THIS IS HAPPENING ON THESE DASHBOARDS AND IF THEY TRY AND MOVE IT, IT WOULD GET BRITTLE AND FALL APART. I CALLED LEXUS AND THEY DENIED THAT ANY OF THIS IS HAPPENING, BUT I CAN'T EVEN SEE OUT MY CAR BECAUSE IT SO SHINY AND IT BLINDS ME.

THIS IS THE WORST CAR I HAVE EVER BOUGHT AND I SPENT MORE MONEY ON IT THEN OTHERS. I WOULD STAY CLEAR OF THIS CAR.

Update from Dec 9, 2014: Lexus called me and said that in good faith they would split the bill in half but I had to pay full price for the navigation they should of paid for the whole thing. But they wouldn't replace the front door panels that were also melting so every time I get out of my car I have to be careful that I don't get the black stuff all over me.
