All I'm trying to do is determine if I need new seat belts, for our 2007 SC430. There's been a problem for some time, the seat belts just wouldn't retract all the way. The Lexus dealer say's, hey, it'll cost a lot to replace. They never really looked to see what the problem was. In fact they cleaned the seat belts hoping that would help. It didn't. Once they said, A lot to fix, I never followed up with them for more information.

I've taken the car to a well known Lexus repair shop in our area and they've indicated I need new belts. Since they looked at them the seat belts are working much better. No they didn't replace them, just looked at them. What ever they did though, seems to have corrected the problem. Or, temporarily eliminated the concern. The belts are now retracting, slowly but fully. Much better than they were.

Any suggestions, from other people that may have had this problem. I'd like to find a solution.

Thank You Ed
