CX-5 Grand Touring 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 78,209 miles

Right after I got my car back from the dealer (had the high pressure fuel pump replaced) I noticed the car would resist going past 60-65mph. I would floor it and the speedometer and car would not move any faster. On other occasions, while cruising at 65mph, the engine suddenly revved from 2.5k to 4 for a few seconds. This happened again a few minutes later. 3 weeks after picking up my car, my car would not want to go above 60mph, the engine rpm would go up though.

CX-5 Sport 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 27,300 miles

The car - which only had 27300 miles in over 5 years and well maintained - had serious transmission issue within few months of the drivetrain warranty expiring. I had to get the transmission fully replaced, which was a very expensive fix as you can imagine. Really bad build quality from Mazda on a part which is supposed to easily last 80k-100k miles. Will never ever buy a Mazda ever again.

CX-5 Sport 2.5L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 72,000 miles

I found occasionally when you put the car in drive the engine revs up when you mash on the gas to go, but no zoom zoom. When you let off you feel it ease into drive and it goes. Has happened about 5 times from March to November. I changed the transmission fluid, but it did it after changing. I have noticed that occasionally when you stop at a light, it feels like the transmission goes into neutral and when you let off the brake and give it the gas it feels like it engages with a jerk.

This is my first Mazda and maybe my last. I am not used to experiencing problems like this since I have always owned Toyotas and Hondas.

CX-5 AWD Grand Touring 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,000 miles

The vehicle revs really high and will not shift. It's like you press the gas pedal down to the floor without your foot on the gas pedal. It is very scary. It happened two different times on my way to work - which is only 7 miles.

CX-5 Grand Touring

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

One morning car would not go. You would floor it and nothing would happen. The entire transmission had to be replaced. I barely had 10k miles on it.

CX-5 Grand Touring 184 Hp 2.4L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 7,500 miles

My car would not engage in drive after I stopped at a light. The engine was revving really high and was lurching forward as if it was having hiccups. It finally engaged but I did not feel safe at all. Luckily there were no cars ahead or behind me because I would have gotten hit from the front and the back. I will bring my car to the dealers tomorrow!!!!
