I bought this 2018 Mazda CX 5 brand new from Marin Mazda in San Rafael Ca.5/25/18. It has several serious manufacturer defects that Mazda North American Operations have not taken care of.
There is excessive amounts of gas getting into the oil which is causing the oil level to be extremely over full- the dipstick has very strong odor of gas when you check the oil. As I am sure you all know gas is not a lubricant and is contaminating the oil causing it to be very thin.
I have involved Mazda Corp. they already know about this problem although they don't want to sign their stains and take responsibility for it. I took my car to Hansel Mazda in Santa Rosa Ca to have this issue fixed along with a oil leak from the rear main seal between the engine and transmission (which was confirmed by Mazda's Regional Technical Specialist and myself we both took photos of it) I checked the oil level and condition before I dropped it off, documented- it was extremely over full, very thin and smelling of gas.
Took it in on 12/26/18 the service advisor called me on the 28th after the service department was closed for 40 minutes (weird huh ) to tell me there was no oil leak and nothing wrong with my car but they want to keep it until Monday the 31st. When I picked my car up it was running worse then it was when I dropped it off.
I called Hansel Mazda and spoke with the same service advisor. He said "we didn't do anything to your car besides inspect it and if you don't trust us, you should take your car to another dealer". I checked the oil when I got home it was below the minimum mark and was very thick. Where did all my oil go that I just paid for a month ago when I had them change the oil? That is their wannabe fix on the sly, remove oil to make room for all the gas and put some sort of additive to try to stop the oil leak.
Two weeks later I took my car to another shop they confirmed that in fact there is gas back in the oil and oil leaking from the rear main seal.
