I have been reading some of the other complaints and it seems that my vehicle may be having the brake booster diaphragm leakage problem. Today the vehicle became hard to brake like the pedal was pushing my foot back up while I was trying to press it down to stop. I turned radio off and listened and there is this hissing noise like air leakage when the brake is applied on the inside around the brake pedal. At this time when car is rolling down hill the braking is not bringing the car to a complete stop, so therefore the car is not drive-able at this time. I can not go without a car and can't put my kids in the car with it like this. This should have been recalled and repaired by the manufacturer. I don't know if there is any kind of extended warranty still available to help get this repaired but if this is going to be an expensive fix then it will be parked for some time.

Mazda has a problem with their brake Unit. They have acknowledged as much by extending warranty but fell short of a recall. They do this to save money and face because if you are past the warranty of 90,000 miles (which we were) they dont have to fix it. My problem is I was never notified they knew of a problem. They only serviced those that brought the car in for work. If I had been notified I would have brought it in and had it checked and according to the service dept it most likely wouldve shown up. Now its not covered because we didnt feel the full effect until it got bad enough. I wouldve never even know hasd the service tech not asked about the brakes and TOLD me it would be covered but then had to call me back the next day to tell me it was past the warranty mileage. Funny thing is we were shopping for a new one at that point in time, needless to say we are no longer looking at Mazda.

PS.. just got a new recall for airbags. Really????

I was driving with my wife and 2 sons, in the car. We were visiting my brother new born son. While driving on the highway to go back home. I tried to stop but the brakes were NOT working. The pedal was super hard to push. With every push, there was that hissing sound, like there was air coming out the brakes. Why The NHTSA is waiting to do a recall on that problem ? Are they waiting for someone or an entire family to die. Today, (July 4 2016) My family and I we almost crash into another car. Why is it necessary for someone to die before they can say its recall. and it will probably going to cost me a arm and leg to get fix.

My husband was driving to work going about 40 miles an hour when the brakes completely seized on him. The pedal went straight to the floor causing him to almost collide with the car in front of him. For the past couple days he has complained about it seeming harder to press the pedal and get the car to slow down. Now the car is sitting at his work until we can contact Mazda in the morning get it taken care of. Did some research on this issue with this model SUV and seems to be that this is a COMMON issue that Mazda will not address and has not performed a recall for. How many people have to get hurt before it becomes significant enough to admit that there's an issue Mazda??????
