MAZDA3

  • Automatic transmission
  • 167,000 miles

I TRUST the Mazda company, but unfortunately they let me down. I am full of disappointment.

I am student who works part time and have 5 persons in my home to take care of. We need the car for school, and we did a great job to prepare the money to buy it, and it suddenly stops. I go to the dealer in Iowa City and they ask for $4000 to replace the transmission, so then I go to the RJ mechanical shop. I explain to him that I need to fix the car with more cheaper price, please. He said do you accept the used transmission, there is no warranty, it may work or it may not. I said I have no other option, he said it will cost 1250, so I said okay, then I take time to prepare the money. I cut from my family budget for food and for clothing until we make it and take the car to the mechanic's shop, and he changed it. Now it's working but it may stop at any time, so please can you help me to compensate me with my money for this defect, that I have done nothing to make happen?

MAZDA3 GS 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 116,818 miles

The car would randomly jerk into different gears while driving. Most of the time it would not even move out of park. Only solution is to replace the transmission control module. It cost me about $600(CAD) for a used one.
