dash warping

Well, I did buy my Mazda used but having the dash separate like this for no cause of my own is ridiculous. I've never had a cars dash do this!!

MAZDA3 I Touring 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 109,000 miles

I bought the Mazda 3 in January of 2017 with 106k miles. Around April of 2017 noticed dash separation at instruments panel, a known issue with this model. I had inquired at a local dealer and researched online and found that Mazda had recalled 2010 but not my year model. This issue just never sat right with me and while researching online in May of this year(2019), I came upon an email sent to Mazda dealers for extending warranty on the Mazda 3’s for this issue until April 2018. I was never notified by Mazda about the extended warranty!!! It should be a recall, as dash warping is a widespread issue with the Mazda 3!

MAZDA3 Touring 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 11,500 miles

the dash is separating from the display screen

I love my Mazda, in fact, this is my second Mazda 3. I know multiply people that have this same car and the same issue is happening. I asked my local dealership about this in 2012 and they said they can't do anything about it until a certain amount of people have complained about it and then they will have to recall the dashboard. My dealership told me to pay out of my own pocket to fix it, which I don't feel is right if this is happening to almost everyone that owns this type of vehicle. It's very unpleasant to look at and rather embarrassing when I have passengers get into my vehicle.
