problem #2

Oct 102013

Milan 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,500 miles

I lost all power, wrench light came on. Able to pull off the side of the road. I turned off the car when even at idle, engine was bucking. Waited several minutes to restart. Restarted and wrench light turned off. Drove approx. 500 yards (got to about 50 and happened again, but in addition to the wrench light engine light came on). Waited for approx. 15 minutes to restart. When I restarted wrench light again turned off but engine light remained on. Able to drive home at speeds no greater than 40 mph with hazards. Dealership states not under drivetrain warranty. Live in the Upper Pennisula of Michigan and dealerships and reputable shops are few and far between. Replacement parts (throttle body) are priced over 200.00 and take a week or more to come in. This has been reported numerous times and should be recalled!

Milan 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 47,000 miles

I have had this car for almost two years and it's happened 4 times. Randomly loses acceleration when driving sometimes at low sped sometimes at higher speeds. I always have to pull off onto the shoulder and shut car off. I wait then restart it. The wrench light comes on every time. The engine and wrench light have both come on the last couple times. The car feels like it is stuttering even when I have come to a complete stop off of the road. One of these times my teenage son was driving. It's clear from the almost identical complaints this is an issue specific to this make model and year. I can not for the life of me understand how this isn't a recall issue!
