John Cooper Works

Our 2016 MINIcooper jcw was involved in an accident, where it failed to stop, and, in fact seemed to accelerate. A previous version we owned did the same thing, several years ago. A few days after this accident, an article appeared in the national media, describing a similar accident in New York. In that instance, the car struck was being driven by the actor [xxx], which was why it received so much national attention. Our vehicle suffered $7000 in damage. No air bag deployed, and it was moving at less than 5 miles an hour. We have had multiple incidents of feet getting caught in the pedals (we have a manual transmission). Having had two similar accidents, I have concluded there is either a problem with the foot pedal locations, or a propensity for uncommanded acceleration. Because so few of these MINIjcw performance models are sold, it?S possible that the database is insufficient to cause notice. I am over 70, but regularly drive a lamborghini (my third). My reflexes are good, and I am an experienced driver of specialized vehicles. I know how to stop a car at 5 mph, and in this case, I was aware of the potential problem. We keep this car at our Florida home, and it is only driven a few thousand miles a year. The coincidence of these events is compelling. I encourage you look into it.
