My car was recalled for the anit-lock braking system and the recall notice stated that the repair would take approx 2.0 hrs to evaluate and 4.0 to repair. The dealer had my car for 7 days and would not give me a loaner car. The reason they had it so long was because Mitsubishi did not let the dealers have the replacement part. They had to fax the info to Mitsubishi for approval then wait for the part to be shipped. They would not give me my car back when I told them I had to get to work they told me there was nothing they could do. I don't understand why if it's a known recall Mitsubishi doesn't at least let the dealer have 1 or 2 parts on hand and then replace them as used. It's totally unacceptable for Mitsubishi to expect to have someone's car for a week. They stated it wasn't their problem that I would have to rent a car in order to get to work. I had to pay over $200 for a "free recall". shame on you Mitsubishi.

Eclipse

  • 58,000 miles
Received notice of brake issue recall after having two incidents where brakes completely let go when sudden braking on a regular city street. Called dealership and told to call back; called back after one additional incident where I applied the brakes as I was driving on a city street and they did not catch for quite a while (nearly hit two cars), plus now leaking brake fluid, and dealer told me if I am concerned about crashes or being injured, pay for all repairs yourself. They don't know how to remedy. I am terrified I am going to die while they ignore the issue and just maybe hope it goes away? this is criminal and I feel a class action lawsuit is in order for all of us mitsibishi Eclipse owners who have to endure terror and fear for our lives just to drive our car.
