The contact owns a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander. The contact stated that while attempting to mount the Mitsubishi roof mount rack, the vehicle roof rack securements points fractured due to rust. The vehicle was taken to the kelly Mitsubishi dealer located at 536 state ave, emmaus, pa 18049; (610) 967-2101 where it was diagnosed that the area needed to be cleaned with the WD40 and brush. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact felt that the cleaning would not do any good for the failure. The manufacturer was contacted at 888-648-7820 and stated that there was nothing they could do other than the WD40. The approximate the failure mileage was 42,000.
