Radio on this car terrible! Start up car says NO SD card when there is one in it! interference on almost all stations! Press button to change from FM to AM, radio would go entirely out! Had to let car sit, turn ignition off for a long while! When it worked try to tune stations wouldn't after pressing buttons several times! Radio had a mind of its own! One dealership finally said there was a software up grade! After all the aggravation months upon months later radio for the last three weeks seems to be working!

Got in car on 11/24/14 and navigation screen was black. No navigation, no radio, no blue tooth. The dealer said they had to reset it. Then they said had to order new radio after I waited 2 hours. I hope it corrects problem.

4/25/14 I took my new Altima into Macgavock Nissan Lubbock at 7am this morning to have the Bosch Stereo unit replaced because it was determined I needed a new unit installed. Patrick Hayes, the Service Tech, said the mechanics called Nissan Customer Support Line and were told not to install the new Bosch Stereo because it could lead to other problems/issues with the unit as well as scratch/damage my interior and to come pick up my car at 3pm this afternoon. Instead they were told it was a Nissan Software Issue, not an electrical, wiring harness or stereo issue. The Nissan Engineers are aware of the problem and will have to come up with new software to fully resolve the issues my vehicle is having. I was told it could be a month or up to 6-8 months for something like this to be resolved possibly. Therefore I asked Patrick who I could speak with to escalate my issue, but he said it is in the hands of Nissan Engineers now and he couldn’t do anything further. I went to my salesperson David Keer to explain the problems I have been having with my new Altima. He said Dale Derryberry is the Head Service/Maintenance Manager, so we went back to Patrick Hayes to see if we could speak to him about it, but Patrick said Dale was fully aware of the situation and couldn’t provide any other assistance. I went to Richard, the Financing Manager I worked with when I bought the car, and informed him of my problems and asked how I could escalate the issue. He said he spoke with the owner of Macgavock Nissan who was not aware Altima’s were having problems like this but not much else could be done. Patrick was able to convince the owner to swap out my Navigation Chip with another one just in case it was the problem. Patrick suggested I disconnect by battery cable to see if it would reset the system and resolve the issue. When I got home I called 800-Nissan1 Ext.457383 and spoke with a customer service representative who gave me Ref#14285042 and said my problem would be escalated to the Regional Office and forwarded to ask a Master Mechanic. My case will be under review and I’ll receive a call in 1-2 business days. One of the questions I was asked: “What would you like Nissan to do to resolve the issue?” My response was: “Have the Nissan Engineers make it a top priority to come up with a software fix for my radio/Nav unit to work properly.”

Jennifer – Ext 458123 called at 2pm 4/28/14 followed up with me, she thought my vehicle had a nav unit on order that needed to be replaced, but I told her the unit came in and was not installed per reasons from my service appt on 4/25/14. She would forward the info I discussed to my contact: Lindsey – Regional Consumer Affairs Specialist Nissan 800-343-6913 Ext457325 who will follow up with me on Thursday May 1st.

May 1st, 2014: I received a call from Lindsey, a Regional Consumer Affairs Specialist with Nissan, at 800-343-6913 Ext.457325 today. After days of her investigating my case and looking into a solution she told me unfortunately there wasn't a fix for my problem at this time and she cannot give me an estimate on how long it will take for Nissan Engineer's to provide a software fix. Therefore, I asked if she could provide her response to me in writing so I can have it for my records.
