radio system reboots on its own

Bought brand new Altima (top of the line) Aug 2014; 14 months later I'm facing a $3,200 repair bill on electronics. Have called Nissan directly and Bob Johnson Nissan, Rochester NY 3 days ago with no return phone calls. The electronics that needs to be replaced is the AV module. What does the AV module do - it's your radio, clock, hands free dialing, navigation, etc. Wouldn't you think it would last longer than 16 months??? And this AV module is something I paid lots of extra for when I bought the vehicle. Are you sure you want to buy a Nissan or deal with a dealership that doesn't care about you after they sold you a vehicle and have taken your $30,000, $40,000 plus dollars???? Or deal with a company/dealership that expects you to pay for these options twice, maybe more????

Altima SV 2.5L

Purchased new 2014 Altima SV on Memorial Day, within one month audio/nav system would just reboot on its own. It would have different symptoms prior to rebooting, freezing, not allowing changing of stations, then just go black, reboot and start working again. I have video and pictures and will update this complaint.

I have had my car into Nissan service, many times for this reason. NissanUSA actually had a new radio installed in the car 3 weeks ago. Results.... same reboot issue occurring, now more serious systems prior to radio rebooting, such as very loud noise from radio and unable to shut off radio or lower volume. Frightened me, as I was driving on the Garden State Parkway at 70mph! Spoke to my service tech again today, he is calling in Nissan USA engineer to work on car.

I expressed my concerns regarding the electronics in this car. I believe that Nissan should look beyond the audio system and its computer at this point and check what the radio is connected to! Now two audio systems with same issues. Dig deeper Nissan! Service tech, always polite and understanding, but Nissan needs to do better. This issue has gone on for way too long. It started at 500 miles, now I have 10k miles and still dealing with this annoyance. I hope Nissan is not waiting for me to run out of warranty! I own two other Altima's both 3.5 2005 and 2012, both running great, never an issue like this. Never complained to Nissan for any reason. Sorry, I didn't buy another 3.5 with the Bose system.....
