Altima SV 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 23,000 miles

This car is the worst car I have ever owned and I’m 71 so I’ve owned a bunch. It only has 40000 miles on it and is kept in a garage. This is my 3rd Nissan but they have turned to crap. Never again will I buy one. First it was the brakes squealing. That started in the early 20,000 miles. My son is a mechanic and we tried everything to stop the squealing. All pads, all rotors and finally the left front caliper. Can you believe on a car with less than 30,000 miles we needed a new caliper? And it still sqeaks at times for no reason. My son says the Nissan parts aren’t any good.

After the brakes came the knocking noise under the rear of the car when you go over bumps. We tried fixing that with a service notice Nissan put out. Still knocking after we changed those parts.

Latest issue is the SRS passenger airbag light saying the airbag turned off. Just replaced sensors and controller on that. Nissan refused to help any on that except selling me expensive parts that I’m not sure fixed the problem yet. Oh yeah.. they wanted $700 to attempt to fix that problem..

All of this on a car that hasn’t hit 40,000 miles yet. This car is CRAP. Don’t buy one!!!!

A few months after I got my car, the brakes started squeaking. I continually would take it to the Nissan dealership and they kept telling me nothing was wrong with them, but it not normal for brakes to just squeak. Eventually they did change the pads and a few days later, they started squeaking again. I just literally got new brakes so I don’t know what is wrong with them.

Altima 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 10,000 miles

Brakes started squealing horribly at every stop. Was told the typical "well how hard do you brake? How fast are you going?" Etc. Not the issue and irrelevant when this is a new car, in Southern California, had car taken to get checked every time it needed to for oil changes etc. Was told brakes were still very good. So then WHY are the brakes making that high-pitched noise? After washing, drying, checking, nothing has fixed the noise. I'm not about to change brakes that do not need to be changed. What's going on?

Took my car in to be serviced said it was the moisture and weather and will have to wait on a recall cause brakes are good and it is just the weather. I live in Texas so there will always be rain moisture and cold weather also was told its because of metallic brakes. I am very disappointed cause a 2016 shouldn't have these problems and no one seems to want to resolve the matter.
