Altima

  • Automatic transmission
  • 40,000 miles

After Porter Nissan did repairs to the transmission keeping the car for about a week, my wife took a drive from Delaware to New Jersey, about a 45 minute drive with our three children. On her way back home to Delaware on the Delaware Memorial Bridge, the car started hesitating when she tried accelerating on the bridge. She then realized the problem was not fixed. Coming across the bridge, the car accelerated behind another vehicle almost causing her to ram another car on the bridge. Scared of what the car was doing, she drove very slowly and carefully the rest of the way home about 10 minutes from the bridge. She did not feel the car was worth risking her or the kids life again.

Altima 2.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

I have not had a lot of problems with any of the cars or trucks lately that l couldn't fix myself but when it comes to these new cars or truck l leave it up to my son. I have a hard time with the transmission cause l have to go under just to check it. Why did they do this? l hate it but l love the car cause good mileage.

Altima LX 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 52,000 miles

When I stop and go after driving 15 miles or so the engine doesn't accelerate. I have to push the pedal down as far as it can go for my car to start moving. This is bad when you have cars behind you at a stop light as they could slam into your car.

Also stalled when I was crossing a busy street when on coming traffic was present. Fortunately my car started moving but it could have been a disaster.

It did stall out on me completely but luckily I was driving into a parking lot. I had to have a friend pick me up as car wouldn't turn on. Very frustrating for only having 50k miles on the car.

Altima 2.5L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

SOMETIMES DOES NOT ACCELERATE, WHEN YOU ARE AT A STOP LIGHT. WHEN YOU HAVE TO PUT YOUR FOOT ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR AND IT DOES NOT MOVE, WHILE EVERYONE IN BACK OF YOU THINKS YOU'RE NOT AWAKE AT A STOP LIGHT AND ABOUT TO HIT YOU. PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU BUY A NISSAN ALTIMA WITH A CV TRANSMISSION...

Altima SR 2.5L

  • CVT transmission
  • 13,600 miles

Test drove it no problems. Didn't go on freeway. Got home and every once in a while it just sits there when you try to leave at a stop light. People think you are asleep. When it does hit it is far more then the speed you are wanting because you have a natural tendency to push the throttle down more. Read my other problems. This car is dangerous!!!!!!
