Maxima Platinum V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 12,100 miles

2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum with interior accent, ambient lighting option. When starting the car at night the interior lights are supposed to dim. Instead they flash on and off, bright to dim, for anywhere from five to twenty minutes before normalizing to the correct dim state. It happens when i first start my car up and its cold when i turn my wheel from left to right the lights starts flashing or it will get really bright when i turn it left but when i turn it right it gets really dark as if its off. Once the car finally gets itself together my driver side lights are brighter than the passenger side.

interior lighting package... blinking like strobe lights

Brand spanking new Maxima. Interior lighting package (20 color), lights the cup holders and the foot wells. The lights start blinking like a strobe light. Sadly I had to turn it off. I have seen the same complaint, no solution to date.

2016 Nissan Maxima Platinum with interior accent, ambient lighting option. When starting the car at night the interior lights are supposed to dim. Instead they flash on and off, bright to dim, for anywhere from five to twenty minutes before normalizing to the correct dim state. It's a cool option with controls in the center glove compartment for various colors. Unfortunately something is not right, especially when it's cold out. I haven't brought the car back for this issue reason being I don't want the service to go on a fishing expedition. They have no other reports of this problem so my car would be the "experimental vehicle", no thanks. Has anyone else had this issue?

Maxima SR 3.5L V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 50 miles

Beginning the first week the optional interior lights have had a severe blinking/strobe light effect. The lights actually intensify from their normal range. It involves the lighting area under the dash and the center cupholders. The flashing is very distracting when driving at night, it is also intermittent. Sometimes it remains on for 5 to 10 minutes and then stops. The car has been in twice now for repair and the wiring replaced but the problem remains................I swear it is triggered by strong based music from my ipod......

Update from Feb 26, 2016: my car has been at the Nissan dealership for over two weeks and they still can't find the problem

Update from Apr 28, 2016: Problem solved. Nissan has sent a bulletin to all their dealers for repair with the wiring harness....hurray....
