The seat was repaired by an independent mechanic, but the repair lasted three months before it cracked and snapped again. There is a tsb (technical service bulletin) out on this exact problem. Since my vehicle is out of warranty, Nissan North America has refused to fix it and therefore, own up to this safety issue.
