Murano 6-cyl

The navigation system was outdated when I purchased the car as a brand new 2010 vehicle. The following news release from mdta is from November 2009 (www.mdta.Maryland.gov/news/newsreleases2009): "new traffic patterns are in effect on portions of I-95 between I-895 and md 43 and on the I-95/I-695 interchange ramps in northeast baltimore as part of the I-95 express toll lanessm project. All ramps at the I-95/I-695 interchange now exit from the right and enter the highway on the right side. At the I-95/I-895 split, I-95 traffic now stays in the left lanes while I-895 traffic moves to the right lanes. Visit I95expresstolllanes.com for more information." Local Nissan dealer responded to my verbal inquiry for navigation update by telling me that I would have to purchase the update to navigation system. I now see that there is a technical service bulletin (tsb) for the navigation system for 2003-2011 Nissan Muranos (service bulletin no.: ntb-11-005, component(s): Equipment NHTSA id number: 10035684) requiring free update (sd card or cd). I contacted the dealer and Nissan corporation but both have told me that my VIN is not on a recall or service bulletin list, nor are they aware of any tsb regarding the navigation system. I explained to the Nissan Corp rep (misty at 615-725-7588, issue #18328715, 3/23/15) what a tsb was, and that it is the manufacture's resolution to an issue. I was again told that I would have to pay for a navigation system update. The erroneous navigation information is a safety issue because it directs you to go into lanes/exits that do not exit and poses a danger when, as a driver, you have to compensate, sometimes at the last minute, crossing through highway traffic to get to the correct lane to exit (very scary). I should not have to pay for an update to what was already an outdated system when I had made my purchase.

Murano

The contact owns a 2010 Nissan Murano le. The on board navigation system did not work when the vehicle was in motion, it only worked when the vehicle stopped moving. The manufacturer stated that for safety reasons you cannot use the system when driving and it is a federal mandate to engage it when the vehicle stopped. The failure mileage was 2,000.
