While driving in the middle of the road at a green light my vehicle shut down... in drive. I placed my foot on the break to put the car in park no hazard lights came on. I turned the car off completely placed my foot on the break and started the car up and proceeded to place the car in drive once in drive the vehicle shut down leaving all lights on with no hazard lights. I started the car up again placed the car in reverse the vehicle shut down once again in reverse I put my foot on the break to shift back into park. I came to the conclusion that no matter what gear I shift to the vehicle shuts down in gear not moving

For the last 2 years in the summer when the temperature reaches over 85F outside, my ac stops working and blows hot air. When the outside temperature is below 85 it works perfectly fine. 2 years my heating also went out in the dead of winter and only blew out cold air. Took it to the dealership and they reset the computer which seems to have fixed that problem. Over the last few days my ac/heating system has made a rattling noise and today it went completely out. I turn it on and the fan doesn't blow hot/cold air. According to multiple online searches, this is a known issue with the 2014-2017 Rogues that Nissan has yet to address or issue a recall on. And I would have to replace the whole system that will cost well over $2000. I live in Chicago and being without working heat in the winter is a serious hazard. How many complaints need to be made before the manufacture takes it seriously

In June of 2020 I noticed the smell of mold and mildew in my car, but I could not figure out where it was coming from in my vehicle. Then one sunny day in June I opened my sunroof to be doused with water that came pouring in. I did some investigating and discovered that the drain was clogged, and thus the build up of water. I watched a youtube video on how to clear the clog, and did my best to remove the blockage. I then discovered that there was a pool of water beneath the carpet under the passenger front seat. I called my local Nissan dealer and was informed that there is also a rear drain, that must be clogged as well. Unfortunately I could not find a way to clear the rear drain online. I brought it in to my Nissan's service department, and ended paying $900 to have both the front and rear drains cleared properly. Clearing the rear drain is especially labor intensive, as they had to remove the headliner to get to it, so the labor is long and expensive. Nissan customer service told me there is nothing they can do, as the car is past it warranty date. If nothing truly can be done, then I would like someone to explain to me why I am responsible for water damage to the interior of my car, and the cost to unclog the drains. I have maintained this Nissan Rogue with great care and thoroughly as recommended by Nissan's service menu. There is no mention of keeping the drains of the sunroof clear and the service department never mentioned doing anything about them. I was never given any indication of having to maintain my sunroof drains in anyway. At the cost of $900, the drains now clear, but my car still water stained and smelling of mold. Please help me understand how and why this has happened, as no one else is willing or able to do so, and I am left completely frustrated and angered by this situation.

The factory-installed navigation system has several issues that make it unusable. These issues include the following: The entire navigation system will randomly restart several times while using it, erasing all trip data; the screen will freeze when trying to use it, making it impossible to change the volume, turn off the unit, or do anything. Brought the vehicle to a Nissan dealership and they denied that the unit had any issues. What's worse is that there are no available navigation or software updates for the 2014 Nissan rouge, and Nissan has no intentions on upgrading anything. The navigation update site says there are no updates available for the 2014-15 Nissan Rogues, but there are several updates available for 2016 and newer models. This is absolutely unacceptable, and has caused several distracting issues while driving or trying to navigate using the built-in navigation that I paid a premium for. Please investigate this further. I'm not sure what else to do. Also, please note that the "when did this happen?" date is irrelevant because this has been an ongoing issue since purchasing the car. I brought the vehicle to the dealership for service about 6 months ago, and they confirmed there was nothing they would do to fix it for me.

While driving on the expressway all of a sudden glass in my sunroof just exploded. Made quite a noise and startled me. There were no trucks in front of me and no over passes. The glass blew out all over me and the rest of the vehicle. When cleaning it up I could not find any evidence of any thing that could have hit it to make it shatter. I feel as though I was very lucky in this case as I did not get any glass in my eyes and just a very small cut on my hand. I was driving on the expressway at the speed limit which is 70 mph and consider myself very lucky that I was not involved in an accident as a result of it. I called Nissan and they pretty much just blew me off, I think that if this is something that is happening that something should be done to correct it immediately.

Front overhead console fell down during driving to a stop at a city road intersection. It caused quite a shudder and partially blocked visibility. Overhead console appear to be not bolted onto the roof but rather secured by plastic pins, which failed to cause the incident. Depending on vehicle operating conditions, incident like this could cause serious accidents endangering driver and others.

The liftgate on this Nissan Rogue has continuously failed to remain in the up/open position. Once activated it rises up to allow access to rear but then almost immediately drops 12 to 15 inches thereby hitting the person either on the top of the head or in the forehead. It truly is a dangerous situation and could cause the owner to become unconscious. This happens whenever the vehicle is parked or otherwise not moving.. while this condition has caused a NHTSA recall Nissan indicates that this VIN is not in the recall as the vehicle was produced in a factory different from the recall. Yet the problem with this vehicle is identical to what is described in the recall. The dealership states that it will cost between $1500 and $2000 to repair the faulty struts that are unable to keep the liftgate in the up position. They are trying to put if off as "normal wear and tear."

I've been having issues with water pooling on the driver's side carpet. I brought my vehicle in for service on 12/28/18 and 12/31/08 to have this issue looked at. The technicians said there was an issue with the sunroof drain tube: It had a kink in it. So they replaced that. However, after that replacement, I still have a significant amount of water on the driver's side carpet. I've researched on online forums for Nissan owners, and this sesms to be a known and recurring issue for '14 Rogues.

The touch screen on my 2014 Rogue stopped working due to an internal malfunction per the dealer this should not be happening on a 4 yr, old car and I shouldn't have to pay $4,000 plus dollars to replace it.

The air conditioning stops blowing cold air after driving for about 20 minutes on the freeway. The gps system is faulty and the manufacturer either cannot or will not replace the gps system nor provide updates. A map company here maps, provides updates for all of the other Nissan Rogues but not 2014. Caught in snow storm last winter and had no gps whatsoever. On the Nissan web site www.Nissan.navigation.com it provides a phone number for customer service which connects you to here maps. Here maps and Nissan have said that an update is coming but I have been told that for well over a year now. Nissan and here maps are both pointing fingers at one another and the people driving the 2014 Nissan Rogue are the ones whose safety is being put in jeopardy. A Nissan dealership looked at the gps and installed a software update. The update now simply tells you it cannot locate the address you are looking for. The vehicle provided this notification when the vehicle was at a stop and when it was moving. Drivers depend on the gps in the vehicle. The screen just goes blank and puts people's lives and safety at risk. This has been an ongoing issue and I have contacted Nissan and here maps multiple times.

Car was running fine. No issues. Parked overnight. April 18, 2018 would not start. Thought it was a dead battery. Would not jump. Has been towed and seen by personal mechanic and Nissan dealer. They think it may be BCM/ECM issue - but they are not sure - no codes. Problem is car wont respond. This could have happened while driving and someone could have been killed. It was sudden and no warning. Still does not work at all. Dealer cannot with certainty identify source of issue.

Since thanksgiving day, 2017, my car has had 8 instances where is will not on the first try. It takes approximately 8 - 10 tries to get it started and then it drives fine. The brake pedal also does not like to press down when I am pushing the "start" button. I have taken it to coon rapids Nissan and kline Nissan in Minnesota and both companies tell me that if they can't reproduce the problem they can't investigate and fix it. I am told to bring the car in when it happens again so they can hook it up to diagnostics. I did that the two oil changes ago and nothing came up on diagnostics. This is either an electrical problem or a fuel problem. This issue is not caused by weather. It has happened during warm, sunny days; cold snowy and wet and rainy days. The car has been driven for a period of time, it's parked for a few hours, and then it just won't start. The mechanics for starting the care are very loud, the brake pedal won't push down and it just won't turn over and start. So far it has started after 8 - 10 attempts.
