My 2017 Nissan Rogue is accelerating and lunging on its own. My sister and her fiance were almost involved in two separate accidents due to this safety concern. My sister said as she was coming up to a stop light, the vehicle suddenly accelerated forward, causing her to have to swerve into the next lane to avoid the accident. She said the vehicle then acted like it did not have enough power to accelerate forward again once it had stopped, however, my sister stated as she was attempting to get home after this incident; the vehicle accelerated/lunged forward again resulting in her having to swerve into the parking lot of a store to avoid another accident. My sister also stated that the traction control light flashed she the vehicle's RPMs got really high while she was driving it. This light did not stay on, but the check engine light has. My sister stated that once she got the vehicle home, she placed the vehicle in park and suddenly the RPMs on the Rogue maxed out, almost like you are pushing the pedal all the way to the floor while the vehicle is in Park or Neutral. My sister stated that once the RPMs went back down, the vehicle then stalled and has not started since.

The trunk lift gate opens then closes. The safety feature in which it will open if it is close to coming into contact with an object does not work. Sometimes the malfunction is delayed and if an individual is reaching into the trunk, it will come down on their head and possibly close them between the liftgate and the trunk. The trunk was inspected by a Nissan service parts place and they said it coded for needing new spindles which is a $1300 part that is on national back order without an eta. This presents safety issue because it can cause head injury and possible body injury if a smaller sized individual gets closed between the liftgate and the trunk.

Vehicle has two issues, seems to be temperature related. When the temperature drops below 35 degrees, the yellow light indicating that immediate braking is required, is engaged and blinking when vehicle is turned on.(while parked or driving) light stays on, while driving, even though there are no obstructions in the road or vehicles' cameras.it goes off, after driving for approx 5-10 minutes. When the temperature is above freezing (warmer months) a hard brake will cause the center console display and the functionality of hands-free cell use, to turn off. After a few seconds, the display resets and turns on (reboots) on it's own. If speaking to someone via hands free, when turnoff occurs, it will automatically reconnect call, after reboot. (if caller stays on the line) the vehicle's dashboard has displayed all warning lights and sounded all audible alarms, several times, while driving under normal conditions (both street and highway driving). While these situations are unnerving and annoying, they did not seem to affect the actual handling of the vehicle. The vehicle remains under power and in gear. Concerned that one of these events may actually trigger the brake or cause the vehicle to turn off, while under normal driving conditions. Or, not work, when they are actually required..vehicle has been back to dealer, for these specific issues, several times. After replacing console and doing computer updates, vehicle is released as "fixed". vehicle is still experiencing these issues. This has been happening since the car was received (new from the Nissan dealer) up to the present time.

The air bag light on the dash stays on every time I drive & the passenger air bag light also always stays on indicating that the passenger air bag is off even with an adult sitting in the seat. Not sure if is an electrical issue with the wiring or an air bag sensor.

Starting from 2017 up until 8/5/2019 after obtaining my 2017 Nissan rouge my initial complaint was the seat, it is horrible, my complaints brought no results from Nissan. Then after I began to notice while driving a loud humming sound as if the car was out of gear and the car would slow to a halt or stall/stop while driving or I would pull over because of the familiar sound, not sure what the matter was then I would see this funny little symbol like a crash of something of sort. This happened several times but this last time it had a blatantly flash the little crash symbol came up again but now with an explanation mark and a consistent warning telling me it was a malfunction the car came to a halt before I could pull out the shell gas station. I'm so thankful that it stopped at the station instead of happening as I merged into traffic as it had in the past. I called the dealership and they at 1st I was told they were swamped and I had to make an appointment when my call was transferred so I could make my appointment I explained the situation to customer service agent and she contacted the repair supervisor; I think his name was steve or stephen and he advised her to tell me to tow the car to the dealer ship because trying to drive it would be dangerous. Once I made it home I tuned into the news and there was an investigative report on abc 7 Chicago news saying that many have similar complaints as mine. I am very afraid to continue driving this car; it needs to be recalled because it is dangerous and I no longer trust the vehicle.

Traveling at 70 mph on I45, temperature in the 90's and high humidity. Suddenly, the console started to blink and beep with a warning tone, had to cross 3 lanes at high speed, as fast as possible to take the first exit available. I had no idea what to expect. Early that day, while parked at the beach, the car turn off by itself, I turned the ignition key and it started immediately, but we decided to go home. Believe me, reducing the speed would had caused an accident, but crossing the lanes that fast was really scary and dangerous. Meanwhile, my husband started to hyperventilate and we both were shaking. It was an extremely dangerous situation. I entered a parking lot, did not turn off the car and told my husband that dying for a car was not worth it, that we were safe, but I was trembling. Now, what to do? the event stopped as suddenly as it started, we decided to push forward and try to make it home 49.1 miles away. We arrived home and the event did not happen again. I don't know if it is an electric or electronic problem.

This has occurred while in motion on both a highway and a city street, especially after raining. The aeb sensors, particularly the front one, will start beeping although there is no one in front of me. It has happened twice where the front sensor activated and the cars emergency brake turned on unexpectedly. We were going roughly 35 miles per hour.

A few times on a cool start in the morning it doesn't fully turn over. I wait a few seconds and turn key again then it turns over. A few time while backing up out of my work spot, the car 'jumps' like it is going to kill. As soon as I hit brake it revs back up and then I can go. Today I left work, then at a stop sign my car killed. I really didn't think much, until it killed. I will be calling service department tomorrow.

Vehicle was purchased new in April of 2018. Three months in, we were no longer able to control the function that allows no outside air into the cabin. This means that the front windshield is constantly fogged on cold mornings, throughout the day and at night (especially on rainy days). On warm days, the cabin smells like mildew because the air is constantly flowing in. Not to mention the exhaust smell that enters the cabin. This happens all the time now. We've come to learn that no matter what mode the system is left on; face, feet, face/feet, etc. (except defroster mode), the system is always locked/stuck now. The button that stays locked is the one that allows outside air into the cabin (picture named control panel) and the only way to turn this function off is by physically pressing the auto, then mode, then inside air buttons on the control panel. There have been a few times that it actually stays locked and cannot be taken off.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. While the vehicle was merging onto the highway, it suddenly stalled and did not immediatly restart. The vehicle was later taken to hill Nissan(6401 cypress gardens blvd, winter haven, fl 33884) where it was diagnosed that the front sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced. The sensor was replaced. Later, while driving onto a freeway, the failure recurred and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle could not be restarted and was towed back to the dealer. While at the dealer, the failure could not be duplicated and the cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 25,000. The VIN was unknown.

I was driving my 2017 Nissan Rogue on a routine trip from my home to my office. I was turning through a residential intersection when my car shut off without warning mid-acceleration. I would estimate I was going no more than 5-7mph as I accelerated from the stop sign into 25 mph. Because I was going up a slight incline, I was able to put it into neutral and coast backwards out of the intersection. I contacted aaa and waited for them to run their battery tests. After ruling out battery issues, I had it towed to a local mechanic who encouraged me to take it to Nissan due to a computer malfunction. The mechanic informed that what happened should never happen. Nissan put it through their own tests to determine what exactly happened with the computer. They later found that a wire had been rubbing against a bolt. The wire was the wire that connects the computer to the engine. As explained to me: The wires of the car are all bundled together and inside of a "protective" tube. The tube was rubbing against the bolt, then opened up, exposing the wires. The wire that happened to be the one that continued to be in contact with the bolt was the wire that then shorted the computer and turned the engine off. They ensured me that there was nothing that I did that caused this but they were unsure why the wires/tube was in the location that it was. It was a little over 1,000 miles outside of the warranty (my car had 37,300 miles on it) and refused to do anything about it. I attempted contact with Nissan North America multiple times, the first woman eventually told me there was nothing they could do as it was out of warranty. When I asked to speak to her supervisor, she never returned my calls.

The contact owns a 2017 Nissan Rogue. While driving approximately 50 mph, the sensor in the front bumper engaged and locked the brakes, causing the vehicle to slow down. The "system lock-down" indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to ted russell Nissan (865-223-6744, located at 8565 kingston pike, knoxville, tn 37919) where the sensors were replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered to pay 50 percent of the repair costs. The vehicle was repaired, but the contact stated that the safety issue was not addressed. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000. The VIN was not provided.

  • 6,800 miles
While driving down the highway the power dropped to the car. The rpms dropped down to almost zero, the power to the radio and fan motor stopped as well. I went from 65 miles per hour to 35 miles per hour in a matter of seconds. Thankfully I was not hit by another car. The second issue is that the engine feels like it might stall upon start after sitting all day. This has happened multiple times. The third issue is that the bluetooth radio system has a whistling sound when trying to use this and be safe while driving. The fourth issue is that the interior back door pulls to close the door both pop out and cannot be pushed back into place. The vehicle has been away from me for a significant amount of time so Nissan can try and make repairs. Consumer Affairs told us that simply there was no fix for the bluetooth issue and that the back door pulls was a design flaw from the manufacturer.
