I bought my Nissan Rogue in March 2017, it is bright red. I noticed a small spot on the hood like a rock had hit it and chipped the paint, and that's what I thought it was when I first noticed it about a month after I bought it. However, through the course of the year I have noticed other spots popping up in different places but specially on the hood. My car is garage kept, I drive it to work and back, so I'm not sure what is causing it, but I know this is not a normal thing. It should not be happening to a brand new car.
I own another Nissan (2005 Pathfinder) and it does not have that problem. With my car being red, you can really notice the spots. I called Nissan to report the problem, but they told me to go to the dealership and see what they tell me. I will be taking it there and will update with their response.
