While driving in the freeway this morning I heard a click and then the "ps", power steering, light turned on. The car was driving in a straight line when this occured. When exiting the freeway it was clear that the electric power steering had turned off. When I got to work unattached my bluetooth obd-II reader to check the codes. The reader showed zero codes recorded. I left the reader installed. When I started the car to go to lunch the "ps" light was off again and power steering was functioning. When pulling into a parking lot for lunch the power steering suddenly cut out and the "ps" light turned back on. My obd-II reader reported no codes. Upon starting the car again the "ps" light was once again off and the power steering worked again. The power steering worked during the drive home and the "ps" light stayed off.

It started off with the 'ps' light turning on and the power steering completely turning off. This car has an electric power steering and I am glad I was in a parking lot. Googling the problem you get many stories of the power steering failing on this model. It stopped working all together.

Power steering light comes on and power steering is lost making it hard to turn wheel. This has happened while turning the wheel all the way with the vehicle in motion luckily at low speed. It has been on the shop and they said everything looked fine. It has happened 3 times in the last two weeks. After shutting the engine off and restarting, control is gained again.

While driving during the day (it was over 95 degrees), all of sudden all the warning lights came on, the brake pedal locked up, the gas pedal didn't work, and the power steering wasn't working. I was able to pull it over. I turned it off and on twice, and everything was working fine. I'm taking it to the dealer to be checked out (the next day).

The power steering on my car stopped working out of no where while driving on the highway. I couldn't turn and almost crashed while going around a bend. Brought it to a Nissan dealer and they told me the entire steering column needs to be replaced for $5,390. On a 2015 Nissan. Less than 50,000 miles and less than 3 years old.

Power steering fails in higher than 85 degree temperatures as well as below 25 degrees. Sometimes the warning light for it comes on when it fails and other times it does not. This problem comes and goes, not limited to just moving. I can shift into gear and have immediate difficulty or be driving along at any speed then suddenly the power steering is gone. I was advised by the ada, ok dealership that the 2015 Nissan Versa does not use power steering fluid and that the problem is the power steering computer.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Versa. While driving various speeds and making a left turn, the steering wheel seized and the power steering warning indicator intermittently illuminated. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to ada Nissan Inc (420 lonnie abbott blvd, ada, ok 74820, phone number: (580) 332-2233) where it was diagnosed that the power steering pump failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the repair fees. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 51,017.

While driving on the freeway, my car all of a sudden stalled to the point where I could not steer, press on the gas or the brake. I had to turn my car completely off and back on in the middle of the freeway in order for the car to work again. This happened three times in a span of a mile before I was finally able to get over to the shoulder of the freeway. I felt unsafe in my vehicle due to the fact that I was on the freeway in traffic and could not move my own car.

When driving the car at speeds 40mph and above, the car does not stay in the lane. This car is continuously pulling to the left out of the lane towards cars in the middle lane, with no control to correct, then pushed to the right out of lane, back and forth my whole ride with no subsiding. The issue at times escalates by getting out of control while driving straight on any road, going back and forth left to right very fast and short by itself with the steering wheel centered. For this issue I'm needing to wait for the correction and slow down the car. The front tires are continuously getting thrown out of alignment as soon as I drive it following servicing. I have had 4 service appointments for alignments and balancing within a 2 week time frame, replaced tires, and brought to Nissan directly for a diagnosis with no change to this safety issue. I do not believe the alignment is the root cause of this safety problem. In addition, when a car or any vehicle drives by my car on any road, more severe on the highway, my car is pushed across my lane and there is no windy conditions. This does occur on the highway and local streets. It is also apparently visible to other drivers as I see cars from behind me move to the middle lane, speed up and pass me in the far left of their lane, then cut me off. I do not believe again that this is a wheel issue, and I do not know what is the root cause of this is however what I do know is that it is not safe for myself or others on the road. I have an opened complaint with Nissan Consumer Affairs and so far their response has been, go back to Nissan for another alignment, to which I have had several already with no change to the root problem.
