first my passenger side window quit working then both back windows and all but the drivers door locks quit working. If any one knows how to fix this problem could you please let me know.

This is the 3rd window I've had to replace / repair on this vehicle. A friend with the same model has replaced 2 windows. Great engineering, GM!

I have had every motor replaced twice under warranty now 3 of the 4 motors need to be replaced they are broke and is going to cost 500 a woop per window. There is a recall they just don't want to tell us about it hahahaha! For as many complaints that I have read, they are not making them any more they just need to give them away as requested by the owner. I brought my car new and since 2000 up til now like I said I have had to replace GM's defective window motors and they said that it is not a recall part and that they will not help me and I feel that that is a major reason why the company have and is failing. They tried to make me feel like maybe I was beening neglectful by letting children play with the window controls yeah right my children is a 24 year old adult that don't even ride in my call. Idiots I don't have no more children and don't tell me if you don't use it it will break well I have deceided to by the motor myself and let my husband look at the video how to change it and save me about 400 dollar and that is my solution peace out

My Pontiac Bonneville electric drivers side window stopped working first.Before I could get that fixed the two rear windows stopped working and now the two rear door locks stopped working.This is a real pain in the ass,because you cann't go to any drive up window or even go on a tole road.I read that it mite be a bad connection under the seat.I will have to check this out.If anyone has any ideas please let me know.Gm needs to spend some of that money that we the poeple give them and fix this problem!

I have had 2 rear window regulators go out in the first 3 years (both sides!) covered under warranty. Two weeks ago I had another rear one go out. Window slides down with no control. The dealer wants $550 to repair as it is out of warranty! They can kiss my ass. I wonder why they are shutting down pontiac???

the first one broke at 50000 it was tied up with the cable so i could get to it later then the next one broke at 100000 i used a wood shim now i have no windows that go down in the back and now the drivers window broke im pissed there should be a recall on some that its made to such a low standard thats three windows that dont work in my car if a dealer fixed it be1500 $ or more that crazy my 1968 mustang window still works

I heard a loud bang when driving into mall parking lot and a few days later rear passenger window fell down and would not go up when electric button was activated on driver's left side. After a week of closing the window by hand each day & night, I took car to Apple AutoGlass and saw when the door panel was removed that the cable to regulator had broken ( the cable is far too thin and under designed in my estimation). I requested mechanic to secure window in closed position, which he did with a piece of lumber and several screws. Total cost $50. The last thing I wanted to do was to bring the car to the dealer. Fortunately, I found an alternative.

I partially lowered the window one day and it would not go back up. i can hear the motor trying this rules that out as the issue. Just looking at the other complaints made thus far this is an obvious mfg issue. A window seldom used should not be failing this frequently. GM needs to respond to this and quickly.

People February 9th is Mr.Wagoner's birthday- Pres. of GM. I sent him a happy birthday greetings with my complaint of Lehmers Pontiac's ( in Concord, CA) poor service and my 4th power window that would not go up. Of course I copied Barbara Walters to get his attention. Do you know he had a scared little sweet rep call me to resolve the matter? She ended up dispatching me to another dealership who only wanted to repair the whole window for another $400. I told her to tell him forget it and I will ride with my window down until I save up my pennies to BUY JAPANESE and lastly,my favorite part, he can go F himself. Happy birthday Mr.Wagoner!

Although my car is 7 years old it had only 11,199 miles on it. Now less than a year later the left side rear window also stopped working at only11,600 miles and I can't afford to spend another $564.70 to get it replaced. I am really pissed off. Anybody got any suggestions.

both rear window regulators replaced at 88,000 to the tune of about $500. bitchin'. now, both rear windows and rear power locks stopped working at the same time. the front locks and windows work, but nothing in the rear. I removed both rear door panels and jumped both motors, and they work fine. what the hell?? anyone feel me?? what do i do? Pontiac is the anti-Christ.

Today my LR window would not go back up after lowering. I removed the interior door panel to find the regulator cable badly kinked and twisted. Just purchased a power window regulator and motor on ebay motors for $34.99 plus $12.99 shipping and handling, which is much better than the $150 Checker wanted for the same part, and I certainly hope this will be a quick permanent fix!

First both rear windows would no longer go up, starting about 2005. Called Pontiac and they said never heard of this being a problem and by the way, your warranty is up. Took it to a dealership and was quoted $480 per window ( which I might have considered but my Father had purchased the same car, same year, and his widows had done the same thing. He had them replaced and within a few months they had the same problem) and therefore decided holding them in place with suction cups would have to do. It was inconvenient but now my front drivers side window will no longer go down and so it has elevated to a pain in the ass. I also know another guy with same car same year and he has had problems with windows as well. How can this not be a recall.

Driver's Rear power window stopped working. Dismantled door, removed window lift and motor assembly. Disassembled lift assembly and found the plastic part which retains the upper portion of the cable had failed. Attempted repair with small metal plate, worked for a short time then failed. Secured window in the closed position by putting a nut and washer on the lift assembly to prevent the window from dropping, disconnected the power to the motor. As a result of the failure, the cable has some kinks in it. Cost to fix is prohibitive.

This is the second regulator to fail. The problem lies in a design flaw courtesy of Pontiac. I believe the cable housing for the section of the cable that pulls the window up is designed to fail in the event undo stress is exerted when the window is rolled up, such as having a body part in the window and trying to raise the window. However, this part fails with the constant strain of having the window in the up position, thus too much tension is exerted on the plastic piece and it fatigues allowing the cable to come free of the housing and thus we end up with windows that do not go up, but seem to fall down rather easily. The dealership will tell you that the motor needs to be replaced, because they do not really care what the actual problem is, they only know that the assembly does not work, and the assembly is sold only as a unit. I may try the epoxy method mentioned earlier to see if that works.

Sure power windows will stop going up and down at one time or another but why do they always fail in the open position during a particularly lousy weather day and or a trip to the airport to pick up people who then think what's up with you driving this POS?

2nd window regulator failure....Rear Passenger side window made a pop sound, then the glass started sliding down, was 350 miles from home, taped window up for the trip. Independent Mechanic installed new regulator...all because a 25 cent piece of plastic cracked allowing the cable to come out allowing the window to slide down. Repair, $500 quoted by dealer. Absurd engineering allowing to fail in the first place! Absurd the regulator can't be easily fixed cutting repair costs in half! Absurd this is not a recall. I have spoken to others with same car have had same problem. This is the second regulator to fail. I called GM, was told "car was out of warranty, sorry! Never Fear, I Have A Permanent Solution: I bought my second Honda in 2 years...great cars...never buying another GM car. Good Luck GM (previously owned 10 GM cars)

I was checking for power wires in the window switches on driver door.
Had my test light grounded and when I checked the window lockout, when I touched the white wire, I get a chime then the radio comes on. When I checked the blue wire I get a chime and radio turns off!!!!!! I do believe both wires are for window lockout!!!
